Addydae Designs
http://www.addydae.com I adore crochet. I do. I think it's beautiful and incredibly versatile. All my patterns are offered with full after-sales support.
You won't often find me without a hook in my hand working on something or other. Designing and writing patterns are a way I can share my love of crochet and enable others to create their own crochet masterpiece. I like to use simple stitch combinations to create interesting and beautiful fabrics. I like to think of them as a way of providing a canvas for you can add your own personality to. As a b

How are you?
I know, it's been a minute. I hope you have been well. I have missed keeping in touch. That might sound empty considering how much time has passed since my last communication, but it's true.
And, I'm sorry.
I pretty much vanished without explanation. To leave you out of the loop was not my intention. The reason I did not let you know is because I had no idea this would happen. Had I any idea that it would take me over a year to get back here, I would have given you a heads up. But life took a bit of an unexpected turn and my energies needed to be directed elsewhere. This is life, right? The only constant thing is change. And when it does, we do our best. Unfortunately, my best over the last while has not been what I would like to have been able to do for you.
If you have been feeling abandoned without explanation, I understand.
If you have posted unanswered questions about patterns but stayed regardless, I thank you.
If you are still here after more than a year of silent treatment, I thank you.
I had hoped that I would have time to continue designing, but at the moment, it doesn't look like that will be the case. Addydae Designs is officially on hiatus. I have loved designing and being part of the community that came with it. Thank YOU for coming along on this ride with me! Crochet is still a happy place for me (when I get the chance!) and I am sure it will continue to be so. I still have quite the stash to work from so have plenty to keep me going for some time yet.
So, while it's goodbye for now, I truly hope it's not goodbye forever. As a parting gift, I have added three new patterns for download to my Ravelry Store.
Appropriately the design pictured is named Departures. Ironic, yes? Head on over to my Ravelry store to see Arrivals and Solwind.
Thanks again for your support, friendship and inspiration over the past 15 years.
As always, happy crocheting!

I do love a great fade set. Anyone want to save me from myself and buy these before I add them all to my cart? ποΈποΈ

Sundays are for crochet (and coffee... and pancakes!)ββββββββ
ββββββββ
Hahaha - I wondered why I didn't get any replies! For some reason IG didn't add this photo when I initially loaded it so it's now Monday. But yesterday I did get to spend some time adding a few more rows to my scrappy Recollection blanket.ββββββββ

How about you? What did you get up to, on Sunday?ββββββββ

I need your help!ββββββββ
I can't decide on which color to use for the edging of this new shawl. The body as you see it is nearly complete and I will be adding a lacy edging. But I can't decide on whether to go with the bold bright red/pink or keep things soft with the un-dyed mohair.ββββββββ
Which do you think would look best? Tell me in the comments.ββββββββ

February 14 prompt: So this is LOVEββββββββ
ββββββββ
ββββββββ
I couldn't go past family for this prompt. I love these humans more than anything and cherish every minute we get together.ββββββββ
You may be wondering about the ring-in - this is Grace, who we affectionately refer to as our 'middle child'. She's a regular in the Ramsay household and calls me her second mum so she's pretty much family.ββββββββ
Oh, and if you're still here for the crochet - the three middle hats are Addydae Designs - the one I'm wearing (rose) is coming soon, Imogen is wearing a Haturday hat (off-white - she made it herself!!), and Piper is wearing a Spotto (grey with spots.)ββββββββ

See you tomorrow!ββββββββ

February 13 prompt: OOTD (outfit of the day)ββββββββ

ββββββββ
I may disappoint some today by not sporting some crochet, but on Mondays I work on my bookkeeping side hustle so it's official office wear for me. ββββββββ
I hope your Monday has been kind to you. Have a great one. ββββββββ

ββββββββ
ββββββββ
This one was easy. A hot cuppa and crochet go together peanut butter and jam (jelly for my US friends)! ββββββββ
Whatever your beverage of choice is, I hope you had a chance to sit and stitch for a little while today.ββββββββ

February 11 prompt: Self Careββββββββ
ββββββββ
ββββββββ
I don't know about you, but the older I get, the more important I feel it is that I look after myself. Not in a vain, 'I need to look good' way, but more like, 'this is the only body I have, I better take care of it' way. After all, I still have people relying on me so I can't fall in a heap!ββββββββ
So, over the past 12 months I have been trying to make small changes in the way I treat my body; nothing major, just little tweaks that I hope will add up to make a difference in a good way. Every little bit helps, right?ββββββββ
Some of the things I've done so far:ββββββββ
* Stopped drinking caffeine (I've suspected that this has not been good for me for a while, but let's face it, a good cup of coffee is SOOO good! Was a hard habit to break, but I feel so much better for it. And I finally found a great tasting decaf!)ββββββββ
* Going to bed earlierββββββββ
* Getting more sunshine (found out last year that I was significantly Vitamin D deficient - thanks covid - so have been making a point of getting outside more often.)ββββββββ
* Drinking less alcohol (I never drank a lot, but decided that cutting back can never be a bad thing.)ββββββββ
* Using only chemical-free skin care products (my gorgeous friends at helped me with that. Love their stuff!)ββββββββ
* Moving more (I spend a lot of time sitting at a desk, so I really need to balance that by getting my body moving. I garden, bike ride, and go for walks as much as I can; although I would love to do it more.)ββββββββ
Like I said, nothing huge, just little changes but I can honestly say that I feel better for it.ββββββββ
If you're looking to make some changes - my hot tip is to tackle just one at a time.ββββββββ
