Have been going back to this amazing piece of literature every now and then, when in search for simplicity, rethinking strategies and scaling directions. Although published in 2019, it still has a very actual approach tech wise and in these ChatGPT days, this statement seem to make more sense than ever "Your unique ingenuity can't be outsourced to artificial intelligence or to a massive team."

I call this one the « Doodleroo » since it all started with a doodle 🖍 and a kangaroo 🦘 Digging into the camera roll and playing with shapes/colours was the process.

Lorsque Meriem Benmhamed nous a contacté pour collaborer avec elle sur un fanzine qui recueille histoires et poèmes écrits par nos jeunes de la médina de Marrakech, nous avons tout de suite dit “oui” !

Bilingue, ce numéro #0 “test” Derbzine regroupe des récits autour des thématiques suivantes : calligraphie arabe, anciens jeux, contes d'autrefois, poèmes, astronomie, philosophie, cinéma, ornithologie et architecture.

Né au centre culturel le 18 et biannuel, le Derbzine ambitionne d’apparaître en Janvier pour son numéro d’hiver et en Juillet pour son numéro d’été.

I was attracted by Robin White’s clean outlines and shadow game displayed in her print screens and oil paintings. Resembling movie frames or still photographs, I loved how a casual building such as a fish and chips joint can exude a specific theme, inviting our imagination to roam in its surroundings.

A legit question… Were women always too busy with taking care of everybody’s well-being this putting aside their own dreams/personal goals? 🤔 What’s your take?

Loving the block colouring, the characters reminded me of the Jetsons and the clean and geometrical shapes feel so modern.

Toute émue pour notre dernière séance de travail ensemble, après deux ans déjà. Je vous présente Adrien Arnulf, un dessinateur qui fonce en relevant les défis un à un, un étudiant créatif devenu un super bon pote !
Je ne peux être qu'extrêmement fière de ce qu'il a accompli jusqu'à date, la map de Rabat c'est lui ;) et je suis persuadée qu'un beau parcours l'attend, auquel j'ai hâte d'assister 🙌
Je remercie Karine de faire un job exemplaire, pour sa bonne humeur, ses pep talks et de nous avoir permis d'échanger et de partager autant de notions d'Illustrator qu'histoires de la vie. Il n'y a pas de secrets, "team work makes the dream work"! 😊

My students are worth all the encouragements that I can think of!
Why?

1- Most of them are new to the graphic design world, so kudos for their courage and sense of adventure 😎💪

2- My youngest student is 11 and oldest 50, a proof that age don't count when it comes to learning a new skill. P.S.: Neuroscience explains the elasticity of the brain better than I do 😅

3- Attention is the best gift that a person can give you. As a trainer, I respect and value it a lot 🤗🎁

And overall, opening up their environnement to me and sharing their weaknesses and dreams is a precious form of communication, one which attests of our trustworthy relationship, one which I preserve and protect.
