Gypsy Swing from The Far North The tunes are often fast paced and in a minor key as befits a music form that began in small Parisian dance halls and hotel bars.

Blue Reed pays homage to Gypsy Swing, the music pioneered by Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli in the 1920’s, 30’s and 40’s. In that band, acoustic guitar became a lead instrument for the first time in jjazz bands, informed by the brilliance of Django Reinhardt.
