When is software packaging not software packaging? When its source of delivery is only online. In a sense sitting in two worlds, this new product from Enduroframe needed promotional imagery for inclusion on the company website, even though traditional expectation from such products was for presentation and delivered in a carton.

It's always interesting to get on board with a venture while in its infancy. In this case a US-based software company taking an existing consultancy product dealing with cloud integration automation and taking it to a retail space with a significant overhaul along the way. The project defined brand identity and applied it to first round capital raising.

Recent diving and dabbling into AI using various platforms, software and (phone) apps.

Who knows where this all ends up? But for now be certain that using this in a specific way is (1) difficult, (2) time consuming, and (3) not necessarily precise. But still, it is amazing.

Watch this space.

A fews years back I was on a project in Tasmania to shoot video of shearers at a farm near Launceston that supplied premium Merino wool to my client, Wilderness Wear (who design and manufacture high-end technical outdoor clothing). In between takes I used the camera to capture stills of the people and activity of the shed in case they might find use elsewhere. They never did, with the video remaining the feature material from the day. But these stills found there way to me a few weeks back via some file sorting and I realised it would be nice of them to be seen.

It was a privilege to be amongst all this for the day – an authentic view of Australian rural life, and something that points way back into Australia‘s history.

Modernist take on the Melbourne Olympics to be restored to former glory 08/08/2021

Cheers (to a Melbourne design icon)!

Great to have this unassuming piece of Olympic history preserved.

Modernist take on the Melbourne Olympics to be restored to former glory Modernist artist Richard Beck’s mural to commemorate the Melbourne Olympics may have been dashed off in pique, but its legacy has endured more than 60 years.

The last 12 months have seen a few deep dives into new media content types, mostly influenced by digital advertising (Google and Facebook) to drive website traffic. While some of the motion graphic solutions in the space have included video footage, others have used rapid sequences of still images to similar effect – knowing that the window for attention/engagement is painfully short, just a few seconds. Here is one example, from a folio of Dialogue’s work, re-cut to a more relaxed 60 seconds plus end frames. (1280p)

Working through the depths of digital marketing and the advertising post formats quickly move from static to motion and incorporate sound ... all the time playing the numbers from the dashboards of platforms like Google and Facebook.

One of the nicest pieces of brand communication I have ever seen. (The last QF 747 flight, before decommissioning the class.)
