After a challenging experience in the automotive industry impacted his confidence, Bailey, a youth participant supported by Inclusive Employment Australia's Werribee office, turned to MatchWorks for support to find a new direction and pursue his employment goals. With guidance from his Employment Consultant, Laura, Bailey explored career pathways that aligned with his interests and aspirations while participating in volunteering and workplace readiness activities to build his skills and confidence.

Through the support of MatchWorks and a successful work trial at a local car wash, Bailey secured ongoing employment and has continued to thrive in his role. His enthusiasm, reliability and strong work ethic have seen him take on additional responsibilities, and he now enjoys being part of a supportive team where he feels valued and motivated to succeed.

Congratulations to our General Manager of Inclusive Employment Australia, Casey Hardwick, who last week represented MatchWorks as a panellist at the National Disability Services (NDS) Disability at Work Conference in Sydney. Casey joined fellow industry leaders for the panel 'Inclusive Employment Australia and National Panel of Assessors Update – Provider Perspectives', sharing insights on provider experiences from the first year of Inclusive Employment Australia and the introduction of the National Panel of Assessors.

The conference also provided an opportunity to hear from Minister Plibersek, who announced further investments aimed at strengthening the sector, alongside insights from industry leaders, policymakers, providers and advocates. Discussions focused on collaboration, innovation and improving employment outcomes for people with disability.

Reflecting on the event, Casey shared:

"What stood out most was the strong sense of collaboration and momentum across the sector. From sharing provider experiences to discussing emerging initiatives and future opportunities, the conference reinforced the importance of working together to improve employment outcomes for people with disability."
