Happy Birthday 9 years old, but 30 years in the making to this point.

March 2011, I was made redundant from a corporate laboratory, that wanted to retreat back to Victoria.

I went through the emotions, why me?, crying with my father, I had a family and a mortgage to support.

I secured a site in Underwood.

I started a Veterinary Laboratory courier and processing service for VEPA labs and Greencross. This helped pay the bills and to start building

I made do with whatever I had, to get us by.

My wife, Selina and I , started 5am daily. I did the processing, preparation, sectioning. Selina performed the specimen pickups.

We both data entered until midnight every night. That blurry photo (intentional to remove confidential information) of the PC that we used.

The stainless steel cutup bench was too big to move into it's position. So we had to make the door wider. Thus the green door.

To this day, I have not painted the green door to remind us , daily, of our beginnings.

My wife and I continue to pickup specimens on the weekends. 🙏💓
