Hey all, as ive said in a previous post
Ill be away this weekend at a vee-dub race meeting at Warwick,,, so the shop will be shut saturday, sorry.
& i think the Mt Cotton Hillclimb meeting is on next weekend so the shop will be shut next Saturday also... again so sorry for the inconvenience.
Its good for me & my mental health tho

Yeah,,, we have had our fair share of weird/horrible people (about 4x all up within the last 12x years) so not too bad in the big picture of things.
Some are just not worth a response at all.
Some we have helped for over 30x years with lots of free stuff, cost price on new stuff, use of our shop all that time, loaned them my own cars to drive while theirs was smashed & being repaired, built them power units without making a cent & then they turn on us like savage animals,,, clearly some people have very short memories & obviously some mental health issues.
Enough said... you know who you are & we won't be doing anything for you in the future. Your version of events clearly differ quite a lot to our version of events, all documented & videod.
So... we shall just keep helping people when & where we can & life goes on.
Cheers to all the people who like us & also cheers to all the people who dont.

Well... enough of my hip replacement opperation, rehab & physio etc... thats all good... we are going back to the surgeon for some xrays & a review next week, he should be happy with it i reckon.
So im back to work tonight, yes night times again, jumping back onto cyl heads. I've been a bit slack lately using thr hip replacement as an excuse

Anyways , Peter's little small-bore Cooper head ive just finished-up tonight, only had to even up the chambers , all the port & pocket & chamber work i did ages ago, already had guides & seats done after that lot, so its ready to assemble & fit onto the donk now. Sorry for the delay Peter, we are on the final leg now tho.
Michaels 1275 head ive just finished-up tonight too... it only needed some neatening up around the pockets & bosses because I ripped into that one before I went into hospital & nearly had it finished but not quite.
So now it'll go off for guides , seats & a surface skim... yee haa!!!
& im onto the 2x Adams heads.
Ones nearly finished (the really big one for the stroke donk) & the other one i started just before I went in for the hip replacement , so I got it stripped & crack-tested & only started porting it back then,,, so im ripping back into that one tonight too.
Ill be away this weekend so the shop will be shut Saturday sorry.
Back to work Monday & ill keep bangin away on heads at night times & weekends from now until Christmas, with only 3x race meetings in between (maybe 4)

We got this old beast back from being painted the other day.

Ill get some decent photos of it out in the sun tomorow.
Its now painted in its original "sand beige" colour that was when it was sold new back in 1965.
Its a Very early Aussie Cooper S.
Lots of stories of this car being used as a police demo car for appraisal way back in the day.
The cops liked it so much that instead of giving it back , one of the cops bought it.
Then his mate (another cop Bruce) bought it from him & then brought it up here to Qld with him,,, sold it to my friend "Corrado" & he eventually sold it to us.
We raced it for years in club-level stuff, motorkhanas, Autocross, hillclimbs & Circuit sprints etc for years n years, actually won the Surfers Paradise Auto Racing Club (SPARC) Championship , both "outright" & the 0 to 1600cc class-A championship too with this car back in 1999.
The boys at ReadSpeed have been working really hard while ive been off-working budging.

& this lovely little genuine Cooper S has been just sitting for a very very long time... needed lots n lots to be done but the guys have got it all up to spec again & purring like a kitten.

Now we can rip all the stuff back out of it,,, all the glass & rubbers & seals & re-fit the suspension stuff back in & get it back to the paint shop for final paint.
The body barely moved a smidge,,, way way way less than a Std mini body,,, the Engineer (Earl Gilcrest) was very impressed.
Im so relieved its been such a stress for me for such a long time... but now its all done & dusted & passed easily, strong as an Ox

& all this means that if/when we do another monaco fast-back mini conversion , as long as we do it exactly the same they will just sign-off on it all good to go. We Don't need to stress test again.
