Carpentry Apprenticeship – 1st or 2nd year preferred but will consider 3rd year

Mates Rates Building is a privately owned building and construction company located in Brisbane North Suburbs. We are currently seeking an Apprentice Carpenter, 1st or 2nd Year.
We are seeking someone with a good work ethic, who would be ready for an immediate start. The successful candidate will be employed by us in a full-time Carpentry apprenticeship, earn a weekly wage and be exposed to all aspects of your trade.

As a Carpenter you will learn to:

Study drawing & specifications to determine material required, dimensions and installation procedures
Use a wide variety of hand and power tools
Erect framework and roof framing, laying sub-flooring and floorboards and verifying trueness of structures
Work with other materials such as steel, glass, aluminium, plastic, perspex etc.
You Will

Enjoy a 9 day fortnight.
Enjoy hand on work and constructing things from scratch
Enjoy variety and broad range of projects
Have a keen eye for detail and can work with precision
Can work independently and as part of a team

· Own transport & licence required (to travel to jobsites)

We are looking for a junior apprentice 1st or 2nd year to join our work team.

Mates Rates Building specialises in renovations, decks and extensions. Any apprentice will be exposed to all aspects of carpentry.

You will learn to:
- Understand plans and specifications to determine materials required, dimensions and installation procedures.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools
- Erect wall framework and trusses, laying sub-flooring and floorboards complete fixouts and fit offs and much more.

Whilst at Mates Rates Building you will:
- Enjoy a 9 day fortnight
- Enjoy a hands on learning experience with a friendly and supportive team.
- Enjoy a broad range of projects
- Work independently and as part of a team

To apply applicants must have:
- Own transport and license to travel to and between job sites (a ute is benificial)
- Basic hand tools (nail bag, with basic tools i.e. hammer, tape, square, nips, knife, chisel, nail pouch and pencil)
- Basic PPE(steel cap boots, dust mask)
- Be willing to work hard and listen to directions
