A sunset, a sunrise, the majestic Suttor River in wet season & brolgas in Jangga Country around Mt Coolon with GBM Resources Ltd & Kate Jeffrey of AARC working out sustainable rehabilitation & stability of historical mine landforms & water. Great example of sustainability - finding achievable design solutions based on science & integrity which are good for environment & good for business. They can & do work together with good design.
So often I find myself in a beautiful as part of working in which I may not experience otherwise, & I’m very grateful for being able to witness the wonder of how our remarkable planet works.

On the road - always marvel at the amazing rock mass & construction material of the near Sydney on show in the road cuttings of the M1. Construction of (what is now known as) the M1 started in 1963 when optimism was higher & construction costs were lower than today. But, here it is 60 years later - & where connection to the landscape is brought in by art with silhouettes of trees in the latest construction of tunnel: great example combining , & for ! Well played.

It's 2021 - here's to all the rivers we've been fortunate to work with - from Victoria with the Moorabool, Barwon, Murray & Werribee; to Queensland with the Burnett, Fitzroy & Great Eyre; NT & Groote Is; to PNG & the Ok Menga, Ok Tedi, Watut, Londolovit & Wurtol; to Fiji & the Waisoi, Wainavadu & Waindina; to Indonesia & Halmahera; to Cote d'Ivoire & the Bamaga; to NZ & the Waikato; to the US & the Colorado.. & all the rivers I've travelled to see, & dip my toe into to see how you work & what you do. Sometimes rivers are angry, sometimes peaceful - but always real, always bursting with ecology, part of our lives & teaching us something about the landscape we live in. River health, biodiversity, community, culture, energy & industry - all valued parts of our world.
