Architectural Collaborative was honoured to be a part of the Mt Crosby Workers Cottage project, collaborating with heritage consultants . The project recently received a commendation in the Australian Institute of Architects awards program in the Heritage category. This image features hand drawings of the fence and gate, produced in the early 1900s and uncovered during the research phase.

Hand drawing, sometimes a lost art, is still essential in our practice. It’s quick, effective, personal and creative and allows for great decision making before getting into the technicalities. Here's a school building we’re working on that's making great progressing focusing on connectivity, balance and form.

When the client sends you photos of the completed projects and says “well done”! It’s fantastic to see the final building which was designed to meet the needs of anchor tenants RSL QLD, Mates for Mates and Open Arms, in full swing.

From outdated to outstanding! What a transformation!

We love a challenge. At St Johns College Nambour, we were asked to bring to life a 1970’s covered area and create a semi-enclosed multipourpose space whilst retaining the existing structure on a very tight budget. The result demonstrates beauty in every detail as a delicate dance of light and shadow comes through with the new perforated screen.

Sometimes you need to get out of your comfort zone. Our Director, Dario was invited to speak to a group of Year 6 students at Churchie that are all interested in architecture. Dario thoroughly enjoyed his time sharing al things architecture and answering some fantastic questions. All boys were engaged and enthusiastic. Apparently he’s a natural! Who’d have thought.

We’re excited to see great progress on the construction of the extension to the administration building at St Columban's College Caboolture where we have strived for a simple but elegant solution giving a full nod and respect to the existing buildings on site.
