The kids absolutely loving their Judo sessions!
Such a fun environment for them to be part of whilst learning vital skills.

The kids hadn’t stopped asking about it all week - finally Tuesday arrived and they were so happy to be back in class!

Thank you to Michael & Gabby who so kindly volunteer their time. Community legends! ❤️

The Townsville crew's school holiday program offered an exciting fishing adventure today! We had a fantastic time, catching and releasing over 12 barramundi. 🎣

The kids really enjoyed themselves while honing their fishing skills and learning the importance of patience in the process. It was a great opportunity for them to grow and refine their abilities in a fun and engaging environment! ☺️

Arika our First Nations coordinator has been making waves in her running journey with The Indigenous Marathon Foundation. Her squad awarded her the Nadine Hunt award for her leadership within the program and within her community.

We look forward to watching her run the New York Marathon 42.195km with her 12 squad members, as-well as JT and Buddy Franklin in JUST 4 weeks time! 🥹😱🥰

So great to have these young broadcasters on the radio today!!! They are absolute naturals on the mic, watch this space as they start entering into the podcasting space!

Today they spoke about their win at the Murri Carnival in Brisbane over the weekend as well as their recent trip to Samoa playing footy & having a cultural exchange. 🔥 The girls also shared advice to the listeners on resilience and having strength on the field and off it!

Patrick, our First Nations programs coordinator, conducted a workshop this week with First Nation participants from Pioneer State High School, exploring various choreographic tools. They’ve begun developing concepts for their dance inspired by Freshwater and Totems. Can you identify which animals they were representing?

5KM RUN with the advanced run group! 🔥

They absolutely crushed it! For some, this was their first-ever 5km run, and they couldn’t be prouder 🥲

We started at Castle Hill, ran past the Cowboys stadium, stopped to catch some of the boys in action on the field, and then made our way back to Castle Hill via The Strand!

What a bunch of legends!

What an incredible group of young people playing in honour for an incredible man, Ricky Morris.

They played incredibly hard and Arika our First Nations programs coordinator was very lucky to play alongside this super fit and talented young team. ⭐️

Touch superstars in the making or maybe future sprinters perhaps… taking out the relay win 🥇 place! 😱😍

Straight after that, Arika took to the field to talk about her marathon journey with the The Indigenous Marathon Foundation and her running group on Mondays in Townsville with the young people.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ such a fantastic opportunity to bring to light the superstar young people in our community!

Running and fishing are more than just activities; they are vital connections to our culture and heritage. For First Nations kids, these experiences foster strength, resilience, and a deep appreciation for the land. 🎣

Through the rhythm of their footsteps 👣 and the patience of their lines in the water, they learn the values of teamwork, respect for nature, and the importance of community. Every run and every catch is a step towards cultural pride and personal growth. ❤️
