The crown of the Queensland Winter Carnival! It's a race that's always difficult to find the winner. This year is another strong field and the one we have landed on is Spicy Martini. She's carrying 51.5kg, locally trained on the Gold Coast by Toby Edmonds and has been airborne this preparation. She has been known to have feet problems so we are hoping they won't hold her back today.

We have accepted for Randwick in Race 5 this Saturday over 2000m.

G1 2400m Epsom Derby

The 3yo G1 2400m Betfred Epsom Derby will be run at Epsom Downs on Saturday night. Once again Coolmore has a strong hand with favourite Benvenuto Cellini (pictured), Christmas Day, Action, and G1 winning 2yo Pierre Bonnard. The strongest competition will come from the undefeated Item, trained by Andrew Balding for Juddemonte and James J Braddock trained by Joseph O'Brien.

We've seen a similar script before with Coolmore runners where the dominent juvenile appears plain as a 3yo then peaks for this race. With that in mind, I'm leaning towards Pierre Bonnard to peak in this race.
