Control box completed! Once installed this box will be a huge improvement over the factory setup allowing the operator to see exactly what switch is activated and reducing downtime by aiding with fault finding.

This weeks project - Turn this lot of bits and pieces into a completed emergency stop and lanyard safety switch control box for a mobile screening unit. Once completed we’ll install the control box onto the machine later in the week.

The new engine has arrived. We got straight to getting the alternator bolted up and dropping the complete unit back into the enclosure. Now to the long list of small jobs to complete this re-power, first off the list will be getting the wiring harness modified to suit the new engine.

We’re kicking off the year with an engine re-power on this generator. The original engine had an injector tip break off and cause significant damage to cylinder No. 1. After a full assessment of the engine condition it was deemed that an engine replacement was the best option. We’ll be retrofitting the new 1206 series Perkins engine in the coming weeks.

It doesn’t take much of a change in temperature for the a/c jobs to start rolling in. We’ve had a run of them the last few weeks. A few failed compressors, blocked evaporators and a failed blower motor. With over 20 years experience, heavy equipment a/c systems are one of our specialties.

After finishing up the rebuild recently on this Toyota 2L engine the customer decided he’d like a/c in his restored Hilux. The factory compressor brackets for these old Hilux’s aren’t easy to track down (and overly complicated in my opinion) so we fabricated our own in house to get the job done. Engine is now back in the freshly painted chassis and we’ll complete the a/c installation once the cab is painted and refitted.

We’ve just finished up a full rebuild on this Toyota 2L from an 85’ Hilux. It arrived to us as a recently rebuilt engine (by another company) with only 1000kms. After initial inspection it turned into a full bare block rebuild. Some of the problems we found were truly shocking. Glad we were able to get it sorted and give the customer some peace of mind.
