We’re firing up the rods again, because it wouldn’t be Stout SZN if we didn’t bring back the Beer Brûlé.

Germany’s caramelised Bierstacheln technique is making its return to the taproom tomorrow for our Stout SZN party.

Firstly, we heat a metal rod till it’s red hot and then dip it into your stout for several seconds. The sugars in the stout then caramelise, creating warm, silky foam that tastes just like toasted marshmallows, and sits beautifully over the cold stout beneath. The experience is a sensory rollercoaster, and trust us, it slaps.

It’s available to try with any stout pouring from our taps.

See you tomorrow for a few stouts.

Stout SZN Vol. VI is inspired by the late-night diners and the indulgent orders that follow in the moments between nightfall and sunrise.

This Saturday, we’re hosting our official Stout SZN party, and we’ve got a brand-new multisensory experience pack. It’ll get you: a taster of each BA stout, a paired food experience to match, and a collector’s coffee mug.

Potato Gem Bucket with Stout Gravy 👉 Crispy golden potato gems smothered in a rich stout gravy that draws out the dark, roasted depth of the Late Nights One.

Pancake Stack with Banana & Cinnamon Jam 👉 Warm banana and cinnamon notes mirror the dessert-like character of Late Night Two, while the maple syrup adds a golden sweetness.

Stout Whipped Butter with Mini Pretzel 👉 The stout whipped butter amplifies the rich caramel notes of the beer, while the salty crunch of the pretzel keeps Late Night Three sweetness in check.

Free Coffee Refills 👉 Because the night is still young.

Bierstacheln 👉 We’ll heat a metal rod and plunge it into your stout for a sensory rollercoaster of warm foam followed by cold stout. Available with any stout on tap.

Campfire 👉 A freshly toasted marshmallow on top of your favourite stout.

Mac & Cheese 👉 Our famous Mac & Cheese is back, and you’re able to load it up with stout brisket.

PSA! We can’t stress enough how limited we are with multi-sensory packs/food specials, so if you don’t want to miss out, come in as early as possible!

Bookings are available via the link in bio.

Six years in and the nights only keep getting darker, and the stouts keep getting better. Vol. VI is inspired by late-night diners, indulgent orders, and the hours between nightfall and sunrise when the world finally slows down.

🌚 Late Nights 1 🌚
Late Nights 1 is the sixth release of our Barrel-Aged Stout program and this year we’ve taken inspiration from late night diner treats. Late Nights 1 is a rich and decadent Imperial Pastry Stout, aged in Buffalo Trace and Cape Byron Distilling whisky barrels, served straight up – no adjuncts. In the glass this one’s pouring a delightful rich, chocolate sponge head, and an imposing black pour. On the nose the barrel is starting to show, with hints of whisky, a little vanilla from the oak and some dark cocoa. On the palate it’s all about big dark chocolate, black forest gateau notes, with plenty of oak vanilla notes from the time spent in barrel. The mouthfeel is soft and silky, finishing with a restrained balance of sweet and roasty, making it dare we say, moreish.

🌚 Late Nights 2 🌚
Late Nights 2 is the sixth release of our Barrel-Aged Stout program and this year we’ve taken inspiration from late night diner treats. Late Nights 2 is a rich and decadent Imperial Pastry Stout, aged in Heaven Hill and Cape Byron Distilling whisky barrels, conditioned on layers of banana, cinnamon and buttermilk pancakes. Pitch black in the glass, with a gorgeous cascading espresso crema head, pouring dense and persistent. The aromas are bursting through with warm cinnamon and ripe banana closely following, layered over a subtle long black coffee character. Those aromas carry straight through to the palate with notes of cinnamon and banana anchored by sweet maple syrup and dark raisin, evoking a hot stack of pancakes fresh off the griddle. Roasty espresso bitterness cuts through the sweetness and keeps it honest. Vanilla Oak from the barrels are imparting a nice warmth underneath it all. The finish is long and indulgent, carrying a soft mouthfeel that’s thick like motor oil with a clean char and roast from the barrel lingering after each sip.

One of our best 🧠

We’ve been loving the fresh Galaxy coming out of Southern Australia recently, and we want to showcase exactly why. Galaxy Brain is a DIPA loaded with Citra, Nelson Sauvin, and Galaxy. Deep yellow haze, insanely tropical, and absolutely dripping with Mango Home Ice Cream Bar, passionfruit pulp, orange starburst, and lychee martini.

Available now online and at the Newstead taproom.

Morning coffee or evening pint? Why not both.

Take a sip of Just A Dash from your mug, and you’ll be met with an upfront freshly brewed coffee hit to wake up the senses, before roasted malts, dark berries, and dark chocolate ease onto the palate.

WEEKLY RELEASE 12.06.26
They say “two’s company, three’s a crowd”, either way that’s good company in our books.
☕️ Just A Dash ☕️
Just A Dash is a brand new Coffee Milk Stout that we’ve brewed for those who like to blur the lines between their evening pint and a good old cuppa Joe. We’ve blended a beautiful light roast stout with a single original Rwandan cold brew and just a dash of lactose. The blend of all that brings a gorgeous freshly ground coffee aroma that billows out of the glass and greets you like a warm morning hug - only this one is designed to be enjoyed a little later. Take a sip from your mug and you’ll first be met with an upfront freshly brewed coffee hit to wake up the senses, before roasted malts, dark berries and dark chocolate ease onto the palate, balanced perfectly by a creamy and slightly sweet lactose note that rounds it out to perfection. You may end up wanting more than just a dash in the end.
🧠 Galaxy Brain 🧠
Galaxy Brain is a brand new Double IPA that we’ve loaded with Citra, Nelson Sauvin, and, you guessed it - Galaxy. We’ve been loving the fresh Galaxy coming out of southern Australia and this beer is here to show you exactly why. This classic Range DIPA pours a deep yellow colour that’s as hazy as it is juicy (heaps). From the get go the aroma sets the tone, with the dial turned all the way up to joose bomb. Insanely tropical wafts are coming through with sweet passionfruit, lychee and mango syrup hitting hard in the nostrils. On the palate, a silky and decadent body glide through, bringing with them waves after wave of tropical goodness, that’s accented by just a hint of welcome dankness. Big flavours of Mango Home Ice Cream Bar (if you know you know), passionfruit pulp, orange starburst and lychee martini all dominating this ultra juicy DIPA. The finish is soft, tropical and saturating.
