Good luck to all P2P athletes running in the Gold Coast marathon this weekend!
Remember to smile for the cameras like Troy does, and a few tips from Troy and how he prepped before his half marathon weeks ago!
1. Carb Load plan 24hrs if doing the half marathon or 48hr carb load if doing the full
2. Trigger Release work and stretching the night before
3. Warm up and activate the glutes, quads, calves and hamstrings prior to the event. Warm muscles are happy muscles!

💥Achilles Tendiopathy💥
The Achilles is the strongest tendon in the body, yet it is a constant source of pain for runners.
You’ve probably heard the age old ‘RICE’ principle however, applying ice does not help tendon healing and can actually slow the healing process.
Tendons respond best to initial rest and appropriate and progressive load to heal and allow return to pain free activity.

Wishing all of our clients a very happy Easter. 🐣
Our opening hours have changed over the long weekend. While we are closed Good Friday, the clinic will reopen on Saturday and Monday for remedial massage appointments only with Jeremy.
Troy and Keeley will be back in the clinic on Tuesday when normal opening hours resume.
We look forward to seeing everyone after the long weekend and that everyone has a safe and relaxing time off.

We have all heard the saying ‘movement is medicine’. When it comes to many musculoskeletal injuries and conditions that is true.
With injuries such as shin splits, people can be apprehensive to exercise. But often times NOT moving or exercising can actually make conditions WORSE!
The best recommendation is to MODIFY load and activity to help strengthen and optimise recovery.
This can be done through:
- decreasing training load or intensity
- Moving to lower impact activity
- Strengthening areas of weakness

We have seen an increasing number of cases of ‘shin splints’ coming into the clinic lately.
So for everyone, especially all our runners 🏃♂️ , here’s a little insight into the condition.

We have reached the end of another year at P2P with the last day in clinic today.
