EVENT CASE STUDY β Listen, Connect, Reflect Conference
The inaugural Listen, Connect, Reflect Conference was held 11-13 May 2023 at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. Iceberg Events was proud to organise this conference bringing together the community sector working to end domestic and family violence in Queensland.
The conference attracted front line workers, government policy makers and people with lived experience of domestic and family violence. Sessions focussed on dissecting the current National Plan To End Violence Against Women and Children 2022-2032. Comments from delegates indicated the conference was very impactful and a huge success.
Iceberg Events were involved with all aspects of organising the Conference, which was a great success.

Biggest Challenge: Planning for the conference started with a shorter lead time than normally required. Strong relationships with our client and suppliers enabled us to work together quickly to create a successful conference.

The coming together of the community sector actively working against Domestic and Family Violence in Queensland.
Speakers being primarily frontline workers.
The presence of the Cairns DV emersion activity Every 2 Minutes allowing delegates the opportunity to experience what it could be like living with domestic and family violence in a safe and facilitated environment.

EVENT CASE STUDY β Rehab For Kids Conference
The Rehab For Kids Conference was held 2-3 March 2023 at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. Iceberg Events was proud to organise this conference bringing together paediatric rehabilitation workers from around Australia.
The conference attracted physiotherapists, occupational therapists, nurses and academics working in the largest paediatric hospitals and private practices around Australia. Leading academics from Canada, Belgium and Rome presented keynote presentations along with local Brisbane speaker Kerry-Lee Gockel.
Iceberg Events were involved with all aspects of organising the Conference, which was a great success.

Type of Conference: Scientific
Biggest Challenge: The 2023 conference was the first time this conference has been held in a convention centre and outsourced to a PCO. This provided uncertainty around the total delegate numbers. Registrations increased dramatically in the final weeks before the conference. Strong relationships with the venue meant that changes were able to be made last minute to accommodate the growing numbers.
Event Highlights:
1. First time this conference has been held outside of a hospital.
2. First in person conference in 5 years.
3. International and domestic speakers from around Australia attended in person.
