Workplace Respect
Welcome to a collective service that is driven by the desire to focus on the stability, safety and we

On Friday, the Workplace Respect team attended the Premier’s DFV Prevention Breakfast.
We were proud to see our Co-Director Jacque Lachmund recognised through her role on the Queensland Government DFV Prevention Council, advocating for prevention, cultural change and safer communities.
It was encouraging to hear ongoing funding commitments announced towards domestic and family violence prevention and response — particularly recognising the importance of community, workplace and cultural change.
But the statistics remain devastating.
Not even halfway through the year:
29 women and 11 children have lost their lives due to DFV in Australia.
More than one woman every week.
These numbers must continue to be a call to action for all of us.
The breakfast was a powerful opportunity to connect with others across the sector and reflect on the incredible work happening every day — but it also strengthened our determination to continue driving change through education, leadership and prevention-focused work.
There is still so much more to do.
We’re launching something important.
The Workplace Respect Domestic & Family Violence eLearning Program has been created to help workplaces respond with confidence, care and respect when someone may be experiencing violence.
Through lived experience voices, practical tools and the Acknowledge. Believe. Connect. framework, this program helps organisations move from awareness to action.
Join us for the launch on 25 March.

What keeps people in this work isn’t compliance alone.
It’s purpose.
It’s lived experience.
It’s believing workplaces can make a real difference.
Behind every conversation about respect and safety are real people — and real reasons for doing this work.
In 2026, we’re excited to launch something new that reflects why prevention, leadership and accountability matter.
Because respectful workplaces change lives — not just policies.

🎓A new era in higher education is coming.
The National Higher Education Code 2025 will require universities to do more than respond to gender-based violence — they must proactively prevent it, support survivors, and embed cultural safety across every level.
At Workplace Respect, we partner with institutions to build trauma-informed, student-led, organisation-wide systems — from training and eLearning to policies, evaluation and change strategies.

Embracing the spirit of International Women’s Day with an extraordinary group of women at the fundraising luncheon! 🌸
The Workplace Respect team is deeply engaged in this year’s theme, , fostering understanding and value for women’s inclusion.
As we celebrate International Women’s Day 2024 and look towards the future, let’s cultivate a world where inspiration thrives. When we inspire others to comprehend and cherish women’s inclusion, we weave the fabric of a better society.
And what a way to celebrate the day by standing alongside SS4H in their mission to raise awareness and educate others about identifying coercive control behaviors. Together, let’s end the cycle of Domestic and Family Violence and create a safer future for all women. 💜
