RED-S (Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport) occurs when an athlete isn’t consuming enough energy to support training, recovery, daily life, and healthy hormone function.
Over time, low energy availability can lead to:
❌ Reduced bone density
❌ Increased bone breakdown
❌ Poor recovery
❌ Stress reactions and stress fractures
❌ Decreased performance
Many athletes focus on training harder, when the real issue may be that they’re simply under-fuelled.
If you have recurrent shin pain, stress fractures, fatigue, or are struggling to recover between sessions, RED-S should be considered.
💡 Strong bones aren’t built by training alone—they’re built through the combination of training, recovery, sleep, and proper nutrition.

Most ACL injuries don’t happen when accelerating—they happen when slowing down, landing, cutting, or changing direction.
That’s why ACL rehab isn’t just about getting stronger or running faster. It’s about teaching the body to absorb force efficiently, control movement, and stop safely under load.
✅ Reduce knee stress
✅ Improve change of direction mechanics
✅ Build confidence in sport-specific movements
✅ Lower re-injury risk
If you can’t control the brakes, you shouldn’t be flooring the accelerator. Shoutout .dpt for the great video!
