RIP PS5 EDM-010

ERROR CODE 80810001

Ps5 came in for beep on, 2 second powerloss.

Under thermal camera I found indicated IC was briefly glowing. Found a short.
I know this is part of the APU circuit, check APU and found a hairline crack across the dye.

Not repairable but I'll know for the next error that matches.

When testing, indicated RAM were 10°C above the rest.

Replaced RAM

Console works! Tested overnight with no crashing.

Very happy with this repair.

It was a little while ago. I havent posted in a while.
We had our first PS5 Pro come into the shop.
Customer had knocked it off the tavle with the cords plugged in. Its not covered under warranty.
We got it fixed within the hour! Customer was super happy and i managed to take some readings for the next customer that comes in!

First customer PS5 Slim in the shop, hdmi bent after being knock off a shelf, warranty wont cover that.
Repair was completed within the hour and customer was back to gaming!

PS5 - Error Code - CE-108262-9
Symptom - Crashing (powerloss) during gameplay or on game startup (works fine in menus)
Was able to replicate RAM repair I have done previously, here are some more detailed notes.

Console would crash as a game was loaded, both PS4 and PS5 Games
Upon reboot, Error CE108262-9 would be in the error history

I used my thermal camera to look at the RAM, GDDR6 - 7 was sitting about 10°C above the other RAM

I swapped that RAM and the console worked (sent back to customer, still working a week later). I used Amaoe Senticil with solder paste.

I beleive this error is cause by RAM that fails under stress, there may be other ways to diagnose. This is my third console I have been able to with this error code. All have been RAM.

Already taken apart for new reading

Had a crashing ps5 with some really weird sysmptoms. (Had been to another shop)
Customer came in for NO POWER
I plugged it in, and it turned on to dashboard and everything.
I turned it off, plugged in his cable, and it turned on again. But crashed after 30 seconds. I tried my cable it was still crashing, but the interval was getting shorter and shorter. Till it was a NO POWER console.

Opened it up, used the thermal camera to find this IC heating up.

Replaced and it's good. Got a happy customer, had his console repaired within a couple hours. ( and I sent the other shop my business card)

F7002 blown fuse

Symptoms, no power, no lights, no beep

Simple fix with a voltage injector, find the burning cap and replace with one from a donor

Ps5 All models

This isn't even the biggest issue sony will face, but the dry spot on the APU is causing so many issues for the PS5.

The starting symptoms are crashing in games, but I believe, after seeing many consoles, that it eventually leads to damaged APU and or RAM.
