This is seriously cool. 🛹
The team at Chiggy's Skateboarding shared some awesome shots of their All Abilities Adaptive Skate Frame, and we wanted to show our Beacon community what is possible.
The frame is designed to provide extra physical support while skating, helping people build confidence, balance, coordination and independence in a safe and supported way.
Chiggy’s offers skate frame lessons at Coolum Beach, and the team has also shared that they are open to chatting about other suitable locations where the frame can be used.
For participants who love movement, want to try something new, or are looking for a different kind of community activity, this could be well worth exploring.
If this is not adaptive, we do not know what is.
Please check directly with Chiggy’s Skateboarding for availability, suitability, costs, support needs and location options.

A little birdie told us we might be making pink ribbons at our upcoming Participant Day. 💗
This June, Beacon Support is going pink to support breast cancer awareness and research, and we wanted to create a simple way for our participants and community to get involved.
Pink ribbon making is a lovely hands-on activity. It gives people a chance to be creative, build confidence, connect with others and create something meaningful together.
We’re also supporting our very own Donna, who is taking part in The Big Bold Walk as part of The 100km Power Walkers. Donna is aiming to power walk 100km throughout June to raise funds for breast cancer research, and we are so proud to be cheering her on.
If you make a pink ribbon at home, we would love to see it.
Share your ribbon in the comments and help us show Donna, and everyone impacted by breast cancer, some love from the Beacon Support family.

Cathy and Chantelle, we are seriously impressed. 💛
Our awesome participants shared some snaps from their baking at home, and we had to celebrate them.
Cooking and baking can be such a great way to build confidence, practise daily living skills, enjoy creativity and feel proud of what you have made.
And from the looks of these photos, Cathy and Chantelle have been very busy in the kitchen.
Thank you both for sharing your baking wins with us. We love seeing what our participants are creating at home.
Also, Cathy and Chantelle, if you would like to bring some along to our next Participant Day, we would be very happy taste testers.
Pretty please.

We’re going pink for June. 💗
This month, Beacon Support is taking part in Go Pink to help raise awareness and support breast cancer research.
We’re also getting behind our very own Donna, who is taking part in The Big Bold Walk as part of The 100km Power Walkers.
Donna is aiming to power walk 100km throughout June to raise funds for breast cancer research, and we are so proud to support her.
Breast cancer affects so many people, families and communities. This is our way of showing support, raising awareness and helping fund research that can make a real difference.
Please join us in cheering Donna on and supporting her walk.
Every donation helps, and every message of support will mean so much.

Maybe your version of a little adventure is a scenic winery visit, good views, a nice lunch and testing your palate with something new. 🍷
For participants, families and support teams, accessible wineries can be a lovely community participation idea.
A winery visit can be relaxed, social and flexible. It might be a wine tasting, a meal, a wander through the grounds, a drive through the countryside, or simply a chance to enjoy fresh air and good company.
We found a few winery options with accessibility information available, including:
💙 Sirromet Wines
💙 Ridgemill Estate
💙 Jester Hill Wines
