Pine Rivers Pumas Rugby Union

At Pumas we are very proud of our Junior Medics Program. This program allows our players, training only participants and their siblings that are 14+ to get accredited and experience in being a medic and using First Aid.

Our medics begin by watching over our youngest Saturday players until they grow in confidence progressing to tackle games and then Sunday games as their skills develop. At all times during this process, they are mentored by a qualified adult medic.

At Pumas our program includes the Senior First Aid qualification and their yearly CPR refresher courses when they turn 14 and the Level 1 Sports Trainer qualification once they turn 16.

The benefits of this program mean that the club has medics for all our home games but more than that it means we are providing our juniors with skills that they can then take with them into their future sporting ventures, careers and life.

In 2026 we were fortunate to have the following junior medics: Wyatt Brennan, Abigael Limmer, Jesse Limmer, Molly Brennan, Xander Hendricks and Lolah Hendricks.

If your child is interested in joining our program for the 2027 season, please reach out and contact the committee. Or if you are an adult interested in assisting as a medic and happy to help mentor our juniors then we would also love to hear from you.

Throwback Thursday this week to 2017 when this little whipper snapper first donned the blue and white. Finn has been a Puma for 10 years this year. For the last couple of years, he has been playing with the Albany Creek team. Huge thanks to Albany Creek for always being willing to work with us to get players on the field.

Training this week is on for all Rugby 7s teams. Boys and girls.

🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌 to our Pumas community that came and helped today for finals day. An EPIC day where Joseph and our very own Roomas took to the battlefield in search of glory.

Joseph did some awesome runs and had some flying tackles in defence....AND...... the Roomas battled hard. The Roomas went over the line first in the opening minutes and then it was ON!!!! Neck and neck the whole way. At full time GPS were ahead by just a conversion. While not the gold, all the Roomas and their coaches and managers need to give themselves a pat on the back for a job well done 👏👏👏👏. A stellar season and we can't wait to see what next year brings.

Huge thank you to the following Shania, Louise, Kevin, Kay, Anthony, Mic, Carly, Andrew, Crystalyn, Nigel, Jordana, Tim, Kathryn, Sese, Lavinia, Chris, Esther, Lanoura, Nicole, Molly, Abi, Jesse, Joseph for all the help around the grounds and in the canteen today. Special 📣📣📣 to Harlow, Madison, Francesca, Jemimah, Solomon and Alex who worked at the sausage sizzle tent all day. You Pumas were AMAZING!!!!!

We would also like to 📣📣📣 SHOUT OUT to some of our Pumas Girls who travelled to Toowoomba with the Moreton Bay Youth Rugby Academy Tiara U10 and Amelia and Epalasi U12 and Coach Brooke. By all accounts a great day of rugby and our girls even brought home some bling 🏆🏆👏👏 and Amelia got player of the match. Woot!!!!
