My son turns three next week and itās really got me in the feels.
When itās potentially your last baby, every year, every little and big milestone becomes the last experience for that age and that part has hit me deep this week.
The mispronounced words that will soon disappear. Not having a 2 year old ever again. Not having a baby or go through the newborn stage again. It really has a hold on me as I look over the last three years and as much as I am so ready for all the future exciting things, adventures and growth - part of me just doesnāt want āthisā stage to end.
And I wonāt leave you hanging. Iām there guiding you all the way š«¶š½

Before theyāre any bigger š„¹
Iām not sure how else to tell you this but it goes so fast. It sounds cliche, everyone tells you the same thing and itās because itās so true.
Take the photos.
Book in the photoshoot.
Do what you can so that you have as many memories of this as possible š¤
You donāt need a milestone.
You just need a random Tuesday.

My son started saying āblueā properly yesterday and Iām not ready for it š„¹
Heās almost 3 years old.
All of today Iāve been trying to catch him off guard by asking what his favourite colour is or what colour is this cup because I want to hear boo. Each time he sits there sounding out the L so carefully B-LOO.
They just donāt give you any warnings for this moment. I just want to hear ābooā again. Iāll keep all the other incorrect words close for now āØ

This moment didnāt feel like a phone camera moment, it felt like more than that.
In the middle of cooking dinner, she asked to sit up on the bench top and help me. Mid chopping potatoes, I smiled and told her not to move and out came the camera.
The sunlight on her was just perfect, I couldnāt resist and it was like I just needed that little moment for the day.
One day she wonāt want to do this.
Sheāll be ātoo coolā to sit and chat over chopping potatoes.
And thereās just something about your kids sitting on the bench top that makes it feel so much more nostalgic.
My kitchen was a mess and far from aesthetic but this memory will mean so much more in years to come.
