One in ten Australians has a learning disability.
Learning disabilities are more common than many people realise, yet they often go unnoticed because they are not always visible. They can affect how a person receives, processes or communicates information.
With understanding, inclusive communication, and the right support, people with learning disabilities can thrive at school, at work, and in their communities.
Awareness matters, but creating environments where everyone can participate and succeed is what makes the real difference.

This month, we recognise an incredible milestone!
Twenty-five years of dedication, knowledge, and commitment from Steve Mitchell.
Since joining Interchange Loddon Mallee (now Lifely) in 2001, Steve has become a reliable and familiar presence across the organisation. Whether it’s understanding the ins and outs of the building, supporting systems, or stepping in when something needs fixing, Steve is often the first person people turn to.
He’s not just part of the furniture, he’s part of the foundations.
👏 Congratulations Steve, and thank you for 25 years of dedication and contribution, it’s very much appreciated!
Here are some photos of Steve from his time so far with Lifely

It’s Learning Disability Week!
This week is a chance to reflect on how differently everyone learns, and how easy it can be to make assumptions without realising it. For some people, learning may take more time, require extra support, or simply involve a different approach.
By being patient, inclusive and open-minded, we can help create environments where everyone feels supported, valued and respected.
Everyone learns differently — and that difference should be respected.
