At approximately 9:17am, an update reminder appeared on screen.

The suspect selected:
👉 "Remind me tomorrow."

Tomorrow became next week.

Next week became next month.

84 reminders later, investigators discovered:

Critical security patches missing
Performance issues increasing
A laptop hanging on by pure determination

The defendant argued:
"But nothing bad has happened yet."

The court was not convinced.

⚖️ VERDICT: GUILTY

Updates might be annoying, but they're often fixing security vulnerabilities, bugs and performance issues behind the scenes.

At approximately 11:52pm, an attempted security breach was detected.

Authorities arrived expecting the worst.

Instead, investigators discovered:
✔ Strong, unique passwords
✔ MFA enabled across all accounts
✔ Systems fully updated and maintained

No suspicious activity.
No compromised accounts.
No panic-induced “everyone change your password NOW” emails.

For once… the business was prepared.

After reviewing the evidence, the court reached an unexpected verdict…

NOT GUILTY ✅

Turns out good cyber security habits actually work.

National Volunteer Week 2026 ❤️
Theme: Your Year to Volunteer

This week, we’re celebrating the amazing people who give their time to support their communities.

At Gecko, we’re lucky to have a few volunteers within our own team and extended Gecko family.

Michael and Sheryl both volunteer with the Axe Creek CFA, with Sheryl also serving as Captain. Their dedication, time and commitment to protecting and supporting the local community is something we are incredibly proud of.

We also have Rhyan and his partner Em, who both volunteer at the Axedale Community Garden, helping contribute to a community space that brings people together.

This year’s theme, “Your Year to Volunteer,” is a reminder that volunteering can look different for everyone. Whether it’s emergency services, community gardens, local clubs, events or simply lending a hand where you can, every contribution matters.
