When Ebony first contacted me, she said she and her husband-to-be had not decided on a spot for their wedding. She was seeking a place with expansive views and big sky. I suggested a few local spots including my farm at Alstonvale. When asked to send a few photos, of course I had no shortage of photos of my favourite place in the world. Her response to my preparedness to share our view was ecstatic. Better still, this is what she had to say in her 5 star review after her 9am Saturday morning wedding 8 August 2026.
Caz, we cannot thank you enough for everything you did for us. From the last minute request, all the way through to hosting us on your gorgeous property for the legals only ceremony and framing our certificate on the spot to take with us. It was exactly the picturesque scene and rolling valley backdrop I had hoped to be in for our vows and your hospitality and generosity, sharing your beautiful space, made our day!
Even though the brief was short and legals only, you did it in such a way that it felt so sacred and intimate and actually was more emotional for us, with our kids and family onlooking in that moment than the mock wedding and reception we held with our friends and family later that afternoon. We will be forever grateful to you for such a wonderful experience and will be sure to recommend you to anyone who is on the hunt for a northern rivers celebrant.
For me that feedback makes me feel my efforts as a celebrant are truly appreciated and definitely worthwhile.

I married this lovely couple on Friday 24 July 2026. They are very private people who prefer to remain unidentified - which is totally their call! This is what the bride had to say about my services, in a 5 star Google Review published today:
We had our intimate wedding in Byron Bay, a place we love and visit often, and we couldn’t have asked for a better celebrant than Caz.
Thanks to Caz’s professionalism, warmth, and genuine care, everything went smoothly. Like most weddings, we had a few unexpected changes, including a venue change, but Caz and her helpers handled every situation with flexibility and kindness. Thank you, C&P.
We’re so grateful for all their support and highly recommend Caz to anyone looking for a celebrant they can truly trust.

On Friday 24 July, I married a couple who had driven in a camper van to Northern Rivers, a favourite place for them. They wanted a totally private elopement - one where I even arranged their witnesses. While they did set up a camera to video the service, their two witnesses generously took lots of photos for them, as well. A simple "legals only" ceremony style was their choice. However, their prepared vow statements which I encouraged (and provided samples to assist) put their own personal stamp on the day. The bride could not conceal her tears as she listened and then read; and the groom reacted strongly to her heartfelt words. Their story, as with every couple's, was unique and touching. If this style of wedding appeals to you, why don't you check my website https://www.northernriverscelebrant.com.au

Just remember, you don't need to spend a fortune to have a touching, unforgettable ceremony in a place that has meaning for you both.

Last month I married a lovely Northern Rivers couple who had this to say about me: "Caz is a wonderful celebrant. She is warm, kind, funny and thoughtful. She helped us create the most beautiful ceremony and all of the guests spoke highly of her good humour and the romantic, sentimental moments she weaved throughout. She is very professional and handled all of the paperwork before and after with great care and urgency. We're so grateful to her for making our wedding day so special."

It finally happened at my most recent wedding! The groom forgot to bring the ring! I was talking about the symbolism of a ring when the groom looked at his bride and ... softly said, "Oh no." We were some distance from the house and the ring was in his un**es drawer. But never fear. The bride's youngest daughter launched herself onto the quad bike and trailer and off she went, in her high heels! While the young lady was on her quest, I spoke about why the bride was not going to give the groom a ring. Past experience had provided a warning and the bride was protectively understanding. Seamlessly the ring was removed from its box and passed to the groom, who then proceeded to slip it onto his bride's finger confirming its symbolism for the two of them. Don't you love surprises?
Afterwards the bride and groom told me how much they enjoyed their ceremony; and its continuity didn't falter.

Last weekend, I married a couple from Kyogle who have been together for some time. Their guests were expecting a birthday party down at the beach in Pottsville. Friends and family met at the local bowls club where they were redirected to an address down the road, en route to the beach. As the sun began to sink, shade deepened in the rear garden that extended to the back of beach reserve. Because Saturday 20 June was one day before the shortest day of the year, the sun sank behind the horizon before 5pm! So try to imagine this shady spot lit by hundreds of candles, glowing beautifully as the evening advanced. It was picture perfect! This is what the bride had to say the following Monday:
Thank you so much for everything! We absolutely loved having you as our celebrant and people really enjoyed how romantic and relaxed the ceremony was! It felt true to us and exactly how I had hoped it would be.

This may be of interest to couples planning an intimate ceremony, but who want a big celebration to follow separately. Over the past two years, several times I've been asked to officiate a secret personalised legals only ceremony (very short and sweet) with as few as five people present (the couple, two witnesses and the celebrant). The follow-up plan was for the couples to then have a big celebration - a few hours later, the next day or even the following year, sometimes in a foreign country. That celebration can take the form of a commitment ceremony (like a second wedding without the paperwork but with all the trimmings); a mock wedding - on one occasion acted out the afternoon before the legals only ceremony next morning; or even a big party to announce the couple's first anniversary. If a desire for privacy is very important, a minimal spend or both, then perhaps this is an option for you and your partner?
If you'd like to explore this idea or more, please visit my website https://www.northernriverscelebrant.com.au to read about my approach to marriage; check my pricing - up front and clear; have a look at some of my recent 5 star🌟Google Reviews (there are 111 to choose from!) and testimonials; plus some photos of happy couples? Until just over a week ago, I thought rain was the worst challenge for a celebrant performing outdoor wedding ceremonies. But, I realised on Friday 22 May that wind can be far worse. Try to picture this. About 20 minutes before the ceremony was due to begin, the long signing table was set out with big vases of flowers at each end. The wind was crazy, blowing a gale and swirling constantly. Because water can be the enemy when it comes to paperwork signing, I suggested the flowers arranged in very tall vases (about 40cms tall), half filled with water, might be better placed in front of the table, on the grass. Before they could be relocated, there was a sudden crash. One heavy crystal vase smashed as it fell at one end of the table. Miraculously the vase at the other end had been put on the ground, but fell over. Shortly after, while I was checking the audio gear, the wedding documents clipped inside a plastic sleeve inside a heavy hard-covered A3 book, were flicked off the table and flew off into the distance. That's how strong the wind was! The pen that was on top of the book disappeared as well! Fortunately, one sheet, the memento certificate, was noticed and caught by a quick thinking guest. But, the official certificates of marriage ... well, let's just say the bride's father who had knee problems, said they blew towards the tall trees in the distance. Far out! Without the paperwork to sign, there was no way this wedding could proceed. The wedding coordinator said something about printing new forms for signing. Ah nor! Not 10 minutes before the wedding start.
Fortunately one very helpful couple set off with me toward the trees. I'm talking about a thick shrubs and trees - a veritable forest, good people! You have no idea how fast stress levels rise when the essential paperwork to legalise a marriage is not available because it "blew away"! Seriously? What are the chances?
One of the two helpers understood how critical it was to find the paperwork. Better still, he was super quick on his feet. At least 300 metres from the wedding site, on the other side of a public road in front of the property, he saw paper fluttering. The relief at seeing paper in his hands as he rejoined his wife and me (still searching through thick bushland) ... honestly, I cannot describe the relief. I could finally breathe.
Despite this turn of events, luck must have truly been on my side, despite my test. Would you believe the photographer / videographer found my gold signing pen in the grass about 3 metres from the table.
So, lesson learned! In future, I will never underestimate the power of wind.
Interestingly, this is what the bride had to say about the wedding in an email: "You have been a pleasure to work with and we are very grateful for your time over the past 2 months."
I've added in some photos of the site ... looks harmless enough doesn't it?

While speaking with a bride-to-be this morning, she mentioned that she really liked my website https://www.northernriverscelebrant.com.au
Because I'm constantly bombarded by emailed offers to improve my website and my profile on social media, I asked if she'd mind telling me why. She didn't hesitate to tell me my website is straight-forward and not at all confusing. Apparently packages information on other sites doesn't make for easy reading, especially when the search for a celebrant has just begun. Her feedback made me feel better about what I've written, without AI!! It's good to hear all my effort hasn't been wasted.
Below is another 5 star Google Review written by Milet and Tony whom I married last Monday. Fortunately their venue was under cover and protected from the rainy weather - unlike another wedding from Friday. That's another story I'll tell you about next week.
Milet wrote: "It was a beautiful experience with Caz. She made sure everything was smooth about the wedding process and papers. She did an amazing and fantastic job! 👏🏽❤️🥰"
It's my belief the smiles during the ceremony tell the real story.

Having couples share lovely photos from their wedding day with me is, in my opinion, one of the best rewards for being a celebrant. I particularly love this one with the amazing backdrop (guess where?) from Midginbil Eco Resort. Better still, Sarah and John-Ross' feedback made me smile widely: "Sarah and I are so thankful for your service and helping/taking us on for our big day. You made everything run so chill and smoothly."
So there you go. If you too would like someone to assist with your wedding day ceremony and make the process easy, then perhaps you should look at my website https://www.northernriverscelebrant.com.au
