Dear Residents of Alice Springs,
My name is Masum Billah, and I am proud to call Alice Springs my home.
I first came to this town for work, and was deeply moved by the warmth, kindness, and sincerity of the people here. Like many who arrive from overseas, adapting to a new country was not easy—but the support I received from the community made all the difference.
Over time, Alice Springs has given me so much: a peaceful life, respect, meaningful work, and the opportunity to start my own business. This town has embraced me, and I am now an Australian citizen because of the journey that began right here.
Now, I want to give back. I want to dedicate my time, energy, and experience to help build a stronger, safer, and more inclusive Alice Springs.
With a background in journalism, IT, and small business, and life experience across Asia and Africa, I bring a unique perspective. I believe in supporting small businesses, promoting multicultural harmony, protecting our town’s rich heritage, and working together for a safer, more liveable future for all.
I would be honoured to serve as your councillor in the upcoming Alice Springs Town Council election.
