When shopping for a Tombstone ensure you get the manufactures specifications on the thickness and grade of granite they are offering you in writing , ask the Sales person to write down the sizes and grade on your Quotation, this way you can compare apples with apples when shopping for prices. The thinner the dimensions the greater the risk of an unstable and unsafe Tombstone which can potentially not withstand the test of time. Even take the dimensions of the tombstone in the showroom as to be certain that this is what you will get once installation takes place. Don't get caught with a second grade product that does not resemble what you saw in the showroom.
Dimensions to ask for are:: Curbings, Ledger, Base, Headstone, Pillars, Roof. Roof Base, fixation method. This is especially important when you are planning to erect the Tombstone in an Rural area where currently no by laws exist. You are more protected in Municipal cemeteries where by laws exist.
