Adam Page's Stasis and Flux: CODA.

This album contains a selection of excerpts and pieces recorded during a 12-hour improvised performance at Ancient World, Adelaide on Sunday the 14th of September, 2025, and is the final album to be submitted for Page's PhD research project in which various new techniques have been developed to create more fluidity (or flux) while improvising with looping pedals.

The fifth installment from Adam Page's Stasis and Flux series of releases tracks the progress of the second year of research and practice for his PhD on creating new looping pedal techniques that create more fluidity, or flux, to enhance improvised performances.

This live recording was captured in a beautiful and unique setting outdoors as a part of Tom Henry's Nightjar Live concert series on November the 10th, 2024.

Adam Page's 'Stasis and Flux: Evolution II' has just been released!

The second 'studio experiments' album for Adam Page's PhD, this release explores the final two looping pedal techniques in a composed, clinical setting before expanding these techniques into a live and improvised performance which will be recorded in late November, 2024.

This music was composed, improvised, recorded, edited, mixed and mastered by Adam Page between July and September, 2024.

NEW MUSIC FROM ADAM PAGE!

Hello lovely music supporters!

I am very excited to be releasing 'Stasis and Flux: Expansion I', the latest album as a part of my PhD project on improvised looping recorded in front of a live audience at Wizard Tone Studios on Monday the 15th of April, 2024.

This latest offering explores the first four techniques I have developed in a live and improvised setting. These are the Displaced Arithmetical Technique, the Fluid Arithmetical Technique, the Arhythmic Technique and the Fixed Phasing Technique. You'll have to wait until I have published my thesis to find out how they all work!

We are very happy to announce the release of Adam Page's latest looping album 'Stasis and Flux: Evolution I'.

Created as part of his PhD research project at The University of Adelaide, Stasis and Flux: Evolution I is a 'studio experiments' album containing composed and improvised material utilising the first four original looping techniques being developed as a part of this project.

"I am very excited to share with you the first of 6 albums I will be producing as a part of my PhD project on looping. This album is a snapshot of who I am as a looping artist now, before the real research and practice begins.

Stasis and Flux: Prelude, by Adam Page 6 track album

Our latest release is a special one; a celebration of a life taken way too soon performed by Adam Page.

This improvised piano performance was recorded as guests were arriving to Alistair Walsh's 'Celebration of Life'. Building on motifs and chord sequences explored in the weeks after Al's death, this piece moves as the energy in the room changed from quiet mingling, to loving reuniting and finally, deep reflection as the guests were all seated.

Whilst this track can be downloaded for free, we invite you to 'pay what you like' with all proceeds being donated to support the work of Jay Allen, otherwise known as The Melanoma Man.

Through advocacy, fundraising and educational talks, Jay has been able to touch many lives and bring a positive change to those whose lives have been affected by cancer. NEW RELEASE from The Adam Page Ensemble!
'Dragon and Phoenix - Live at Wizard Tone Studios' sees the ensemble performing a 15 piece song cycle inspired by the life of a man named Nick who died on June 2, 2021 - one year to the day of this performance and recording. Commissioned by his wife Jane, Dragon and Phoenix is an emotional but exciting musical journey through an array of scenarios closely attached to Nick's life and experiences. With sublime playing from each member and a guest appearance from Tim Minchin, 'Dragon and Phoenix' is a culmination of Page's best writing to date and a world class recording by James Brown (engineer and mixing) and Jarrad Payne (engineer and mastering).
