A huge thank you to Community Broadcasting Association of Australia and all the radio stations associated across Australia that have supported and played our original music. Every spin, every mention and every show of support means the world to independent artists like us.
We especially want to acknowledge three stations that have gone above and beyond in supporting our music journey:
Lofty 88.9 Adelaide Hills – our greatest supporter and a true champion of local original music. Your ongoing belief in what we do has been incredible.
88.7 Adelaide's Coast FM – thank you for consistently getting behind our songs and helping us reach new audiences.
The Local - SA – your support for independent South Australian music is deeply appreciated and never taken for granted.
Community radio plays such an important role in keeping original Australian music alive, and we are genuinely grateful to every presenter, programmer, volunteer and listener who has supported us along the way.
Thank you all for being part of the journey.

ABOUT THE SONG:
You’re rolling down a dusty red road, that endless blue sky stretched out across your bonnet. The red dirt gives way to gravel… the gravel to bitumen… and suddenly, you’re staring at your first set of traffic lights. Damn.
You glance down at your boots, worn, faithful, carrying the dust and memories of everywhere you’ve been. Then your eyes drift to the rear-view mirror, chasing one last glimpse of something you can’t quite put into words.
It’s that moment, the pull between where you’ve been and where you are now. The beauty and the ache, all at once.
If you feel that tug… that quiet collision inside… chances are, you’ve got the Spinifex Blues.
LYRICS
INTRO:
VERSE 01:
It’s good to be home. But that was just a lie
Missed calls on the phone I just wanna say goodbye
Did some things spread my wings and they taught me to fly
And they taught me to fly
And they taught me to fly
CHORUS 01:
Grass stuck in my boots
My mind is startin’ to bruise
Gotta get out back, I got the spinifex blues.
VERSE 02:
Time stood still I need clear vision
Now I’m back in this place I feel the tug the collision
There’s a better place and it’s in my rear vision
Time to make a decision
It’s in my rear vision
CHORUS 02:
Grass stuck in my boots My mind is startin’ to bruise
Gotta get out back, I got the spinifex blues.
SOLO:
BRIDGE:
I got my Gold it’s gotta shine got to guard it all the time, Yeh I’m livin’ a lie
Got my Gold it’s gotta shine I gotta guard it all the time
Got my Gold it’s gotta shine gotta guard it all the time
VERSE 03:
Time stood still; I need clear vision Now I’m back in this place I feel the tug the collision
Well there’s another place and it’s in my rear vision; Time to make a decision; Oh it’s in my rear vision

ABOUT THE SONG
The 1970s was a decade of change, bold, messy, and unforgettable.
It was a time when Australia took major steps forward:
• The end of the White Australia Policy
• The end of conscription
• The first recognition of land rights for First Nations Australians
And running alongside those social and political shifts was the true heartbeat of the decade: the music.
The spirit of the ‘60s revolution rolled into the ‘70s, with artists who turned amplifiers into megaphones and lyrics into protest banners. Their songs didn’t just fill the airwaves, they gave voice to a generation.
Ode to the ‘70s celebrates that era of freedom, defiance, and soul. It’s our tribute to the bands and voices that inspired us to pick up our instruments and play and to a time when music truly felt like it could change the world.
Ode to the 70’s (LYRICS)

ABOUT THE SONG:
Well the Summer of 2020 is here but still dear to our hearts was the Summer of ’75, the year we left High School and came of age. We embraced our new found freedom and the sounds of those years still resonate with us with this song.
INTRODUCTION:
VERSE 1:
From Pondalowie to the Nullarbor
Cactus waves I'd never seen before
My EH was my home the surf my friend.
VERSE 2:
From the shed to the stage, the bands were raw
The greatest rock I'd never heard before
Chisel, Rudd, Daddy Cool you were my friends.
REFRAIN 1:
In the summer of seventy-five
We lived our lives in overdrive
Campfires on the beach till morning light.
GUITAR SOLO:
VERSE 3:
Tangled hair stung by the sun
Panel vans lines up for fun
Moana silver sands you were my friends
VERSE 4:
When mates of mine were mates I knew,
Guitar and keys, played a gig or two
Countdown came alive, it wouldn't end
REFRAIN 2:
In the summer of seventy five
We lived our lives in overdrive
Campfires on the beach till morning light it felt so right
I’D RATHER WEAR A HAT THAN WEAR A HALO – (Hat’s and Halo’s)
Performed by: MOSS
Written By: LYRICS Susan Craig MUSIC: Mark Simpkin, Clive Pollard, Robert Brooking and David White
Produced by: John Rose
Video Footage: Jake Degraaf and Jethro Heller
ABOUT THE SONG:
A song essentially suggesting you’d rather be alive than dead.
Inspiration for a song can come from the most unusual places and when you least expect it. This song was inspired from a painting by Ken Brayford who painted all the dogs in their family past and present. Those who had passed are wearing halos, those who are still alive and barking are wearing hats! My immediate reaction when I saw this wonderful painting was . . . “Glad I’m wearing a hat and not a halo!” Then shortly after Mark and I went on a road trip to the Kimberley and the lyrics followed based on the amazing feeling of freedom and being totally alive in outback Australia. Sometimes it’s hard to be happy when there’re so many aweful things going on in the world that make you sad. But we shouldn’t apologies for the sand in our shoes or the wind in our hair, because we will all cop bad times and in the meantime do the best we can for others less fortunate and get on with enjoying life! Tori Dewar
LYRICS:
INTRO:
I’d rather wear a hat than wear a halo, I’d rather wear a hat than wear a halo
I’d rather wear a hat than wear a halo, I’d rather wear a hat than wear a halo
VERSE 1:
The queen of the desert, I got nothing to lose
Nothing in front of me, what will I choose
I’ll put a little Amoco in my machine
The dust in the mirror's the best I’ve seen
CHORUS 1:
I’d rather wear a hat than wear a halo, I’d rather wear a hat than wear a halo
VERSE 2:
Bad things going on, I don’t know what to do
So do what you can, then make the best of you
Oh it’s a beautiful show to be seen and heard
But before you drink it, make it shaken not stirred
CHORUS 2:
I’d rather wear a hat than wear a halo, I’d rather wear a hat than wear a halo
BRIDGE
Don’t apologise for the sand in your shoes
Or the wind in your hair, cos your life’s is on the loose
It will make you mad and it will make you sad
So put your paint on your brush and brush like mad.
Don’t apologise for the sand in your shoes,
Or the wind in your hair, 'cos you’re life . . . .. . is on the loose.
SOLO’s:
VERSE 3:
Big blue space staring back at me
Didn’t pay a cent, didn’t rent it’s free
Goanna on the rock, goanna in my car
Singin’ the tunes right up to Williams bar
CHORUS 3:
I’d rather wear a hat than wear a halo, I’d rather wear a hat than wear a halo
I’d rather wear a hat than wear a halo, I’d rather wear a hat than wear a halo
