It's no secret we love a good app. The one we made for our clients is our favourite. But we've just heard about a new one called ConnectUp, and it sounds pretty good too.

ConnectUp offers people with disability and carers a way to meet new people, discover local inclusive and accessible activities, and build healthier, more connected lives.

If you're wanting to get out of the house and make some meaningful connections, this could be just the place to start🧑‍🤝‍🧑

POV: You're a few months into your NDIS plan and you jump online to check it... and see you've got funding you haven't used.

You start to feel worried and confused. What was that money meant for again? And what rules apply?

You look for the notes from your plan implementation meeting, but they don't help right now.

So, you call My Plan Manager and one of our NDIS experts picks up. You discuss your funding and it becomes clearer how you can use it to access the supports you need. Win! 🙌

For people accessing the NDIS, one of the biggest barriers to using funding is not understanding how the different budgets work.

Here’s a helpful way to think about it:

💚Your Core Supports funding is usually the most flexible and can often be used across different day-to-day supports, like support workers or help at home.

💚Your Capacity Building Supports funding is more structured and tied to specific supports, like therapies or skill development.

💚Your Capital Supports funding is typically for larger purchases, like equipment or home modifications, and may require quotes or approvals.

💚Your Recurring Supports funding is for regular, recurring transport supports – like accessible taxis.

💡Did you know connecting with providers who have experience working within your specific NDIS budget areas can help you to avoid underutilisation?

Underutilisation is the fancy term for not using all of your funding, and it's quite common!

We've written more about it at the link in the comments below.
