Great to see these Rural Training Trailers on the road π
SA Country Fire Service volunteers will receive more learning opportunities closer to home thanks to the rollout of six new custom-built Rural Training Trailers across the state. π§βπππ§―
The $360,000 project provides a practical, purpose-built solution that equips Regional Training Officers to deliver more training programs at local brigades and groups, including in remote areas such as the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Lands.
βThese trailers will allow our volunteers to train where they live and serve, without compromising operational readiness,β Senior Operations Manager Ben Pettman said.

On the road again....πTailem Bend was the destination recently as Jana headed away in the Mitsubishi Motors Australia Triton to deliver a Full Standard Mental Health First Aid Refresher course to a great group of Region 3 members.
Over the two days, volunteers took part in practical discussions and training focused on recognising when someone may be struggling and how to provide support when it's needed most.
It's fantastic to see members giving up their time to invest in their own wellbeing and learn skills that can make a real difference within their brigades, families and local communitiesπ.
A big thank you to SA Power Networks for their ongoing support of this important program.

π¦οΈ Big things really do come in small packages!
Thanks to the RAA Small Equipment & Wellbeing Grants Program, Compton CFS Brigade now has a new Kestrel Weather Meter ready for action. π
This pocket-sized device provides vital weather information that helps crews make informed decisions at bushfires, structure fires and hazmat incidents.
A huge thank you to RAA for helping equip our volunteers with the tools they need to stay safe and protect our communities.

π RCR Upskill at Cape Jervis
Last wednesday night, 12 Road Crash Rescue (RCR) operators from across the Southern Fleurieu Group got together at Cape Jervis for an upskill session.
Brigades spent the evening working through practical rescue exercises, sharing techniques and keeping their skills sharp. A number of non-RCR members also attended to observe and learn more about the rescue capability within the Group.
These training nights are a great way for volunteers to build experience, learn from each other and maintain the skills needed to respond to serious incidents.
Thanks to the Cape Jervis Brigade for hosting the session and to everyone who took part. ππ

βοΈπ Keeping cool at Bute CFS!
One of the first projects delivered through the RAA-funded CFS Foundation Small Equipment & Wellbeing Grants Program has arrived at Bute CFS , with a new portable cooling unit now in place.
The unit will help keep volunteers and cadets more comfortable during the warmer months and can also be used to support the community during major incidents.
A big thank you to RAA for helping make brigade life a little cooler and supporting the wellbeing of CFS volunteers across South Australia! ππ

ππ₯ Last month was a busy one for our trusty Triton, proudly sponsored by Mitsubishi Motors Australia .
One of its recent trips took us to the Adelaide Festival Centre and Torrens Parade Ground as planning continues for our upcoming 25th Anniversary Luncheon. It was a great chance to check out the Banquet Room and continue preparations for what promises to be a special celebration.
We're looking forward to marking 25 years of supporting South Australian CFS volunteers and their families on 23 October 2026. ππβ€οΈ
