5 Common Design Mistakes

1. Having a “trendy” logo

A great logo isn’t trendy — it’s clear, versatile, and unique.

Your logo should reflect: who you are, what you do, and resonate with your target market.
Trend-based logos often look generic, get confused with other brands, and lack depth. Your business deserves better than “basic.”

2. Going crazy on colours

This isn’t an art project, it’s your business.

Stick with 2–3 complementary colours that suit your industry, personality, and target market.
You can extend your palette with lighter/darker shades, but keeping it clean ensures your brand looks professional and cohesive.

3. Using too many fonts

Clear, easy-to-read fonts are key! Remember, design is all about communication — so keep your fonts simple and complementary.
Stick to 2–3 fonts used consistently (e.g., one for headings, one for body text).
A classic serif + sans serif pairing is always a winner.

4. Not being consistant

Your branding should look the same everywhere from your business cards to your social posts.
If your colours, fonts, or logo usage change constantly, your audience won’t recognise you.
