💜 “Palliative and end of life care will always be complex, emotional, and deeply individual. No set of numbers will ever capture its full richness.” 📊

Amy Hutchison explores how quality indicators can help health and aged care services assess and improve palliative care for older people. Drawing on a recent literature review📋, it highlights a wide range of indicators related to organisational practices, clinical care, advance care planning, and individuals’ experiences of care. While many indicators require further refinement, they can help services identify gaps, improve practice, and support compassionate, person-centred end-of-life care. 🤝

💬 "Cultural identity is treated as a core part of compassionate care, not an afterthought."

Australia is one of the world's most culturally diverse countries. 🌏 In this blog, Alessia Aielli, Project Officer at Palliative Care Australia, highlights Caring Together – An Introduction to Paediatric Palliative Care, a resource designed to support culturally safe conversations about paediatric palliative care.
