Well, it is official. Lycos is shutting down Angelfire. I have used Angelfire as my website’s host since 1996. THIRTY years! And now, without warning – gone. Since the start of 2026 their website has been inaccessible for the public and therefore my website has been inaccessible. And it wasn’t just me. It was an outage affecting all Angelfire users. No one online knew what was happening. All paying users received emails saying that they can’t process our monthly payments though. They had no trouble emailing us then. The company never contacted the users to let them know about the outage or the eventual shutdown. We only found out about the shutdown when Lycos.com posted this message on their search engine’s website. Contacting their help desk was pointless. I have submitted so many support tickets, but NONE were ever answered. I understand that the business is closing down, but I have worked for companies that have shut their doors (Tower Records, Virgin Megastore) and there was always some kind of notice made to the customers. It was a good run while it lasted, but this is a terrible way to treat people after so long.

In the aftermath, I had to scramble and find a new host and build a temporary website in my off time. I hope to get things back in order with a new website soon. This is my thirtieth anniversary designing websites and having a previously reliable host crash and burn is a real kick in the nuts.

I thought I was missing being in a band. But I think I just miss making gig flyers and zines.

In high school and college, I played drums in a band as well as designed our flyers and website. That was years ago and I didn't realize how much I missed doing that until now.

I have had a bit of a creative block lately with my designs so I shifted my attention to a writing project (screenplay/book series) that had been in my head for a while. With the first installment of the script done, it's onto the project's pitch deck and the follow-up story. These are part of the project's pitch deck visuals. Fingers crossed, my story will end up on movie or TV screens one of these days.

These designs were given the grunge/photocopy effect courtesy a Texturelabs tutorial.

Back in 2019, I was listening to an episode of the Gilbert Gottfried's Amazing Colossal Podcast (RIP) with guest, and graphic design icon, Chipp Kidd. The topic was Batman. During the conversation Chipp drops a bomb on Gil & Frank – William Dozier, creator of the original 1966 Batman TV show, wrote a treatment for a movie that was intended to be a sequel to the Batman movie. This sequel didn’t have Bat-Shark Repellent. It had Godzilla! That’s right – the King of the Monsters meets the Caped Crusader.
After some research, I found the treatment online and decided to share it with the Gilbert Gottfried's Official Amazing Colossal Listener Society group on Facebook. From there, fellow-fan Eric Elliot took up the gauntlet and turned Dozier’s treatment into a full on three issue comic book mini-series. I was one of the lucky ones that were asked to be a part of the project by contributing artwork and coloring the work of others.
I am glad to say that the final issue is now online. Thank you to Eric and all of the talented artists who participated in this project. And on behalf of everyone involved in creating this project, I hope you enjoy it. All three issues are available now at https://batmanmeetsgodzilla.com/issues.html

☝️ Thinking about Tony and lot lately. I can't believe he's been gone for 20 years. I wonder what you would have done if you were still around. Miss you, my brother.
