NECA Excellence Awards 2026
What a fantastic night celebrating our people, our projects and the wider electrical industry at the NECA SA/NT Excellence Awards.
We’re incredibly proud of our apprentices and the wider AHT team.
A huge congratulations to Bailey Turner, who took home the ELV/Communications Apprentice of the Year award. This is an outstanding achievement and a wonderful recognition of the hard work, dedication and growth Bailey has shown throughout his apprenticeship.
We’re also proud to recognise Hans Clieves and Jacob France, who were both finalists in their respective apprentice categories.
A special mention to Denatah, who represented Hans on the night and accepted his award on his behalf. Thank you for stepping up and representing both Hans and the AHT team.
Our Women’s & Children’s Hospital PICU Phase 5 Sustainment & Southern Switchboard Project was also recognised as a finalist, celebrating the incredible team effort behind the delivery of a complex project in a sensitive and operational healthcare environment.
While awards recognise individual people and projects, success at AHT is never the work of one person. Behind every apprentice and every project is a team of people supporting, teaching, planning, delivering and working together to achieve great outcomes.
To everyone across AHT who contributes to the success of our people and projects — thank you. These achievements belong to the wider AHT team.
And thank you to NECA SA/NT for an incredible evening and for the continued work you do to support, recognise and strengthen our industry.
Congratulations to all the finalists, winners and everyone who contributed to a great night.

We’re taking on the 2026 City to Bay!
This Sunday, the AHT team will be coming together to take part in the City to Bay and help raise funds for the Women's & Children's Hospital Foundation.
This year, we’re proud to be helping raise funds towards the Rocket Ship MRI Simulator, a new initiative that will help children prepare for MRI scans in a fun, familiar and less intimidating environment.
For children who need an MRI, the experience can be overwhelming. The simulator will help children feel more comfortable and prepared, with the potential to reduce the need for sedation or general anaesthesia.
We’d love your support in helping us raise funds for this important cause.
Every donation, big or small, will contribute towards the Foundation’s fundraising goal and help support better experiences for children and their families.

Thank you to everyone who gets behind our team and helps us support the important work of the Women’s & Children’s Hospital Foundation.

⚡ Apprentice Spotlight — Meet Aidan
Some apprentices learn the trade. Aidan is already helping shape it.
As a fourth-year electrical apprentice hosted by AHT through our apprenticeship partner PEER, Aidan is one of those rare people on site who sets the standard for everyone around him.
Still in his apprenticeship, he's independently managing a hospital-wide emergency lighting upgrade at the Women's and Children's Hospital; from coordinating with hospital staff and preparing safety documentation, to planning electrical shutdowns and overseeing commissioning and testing. All while mentoring junior apprentices and contributing to safety policy changes at AHT alongside our senior management team.
And in May, that commitment to safety was recognised at the 2026 PEER Awards, where Aidan took home the Alex Rath Commitment to Safety Award. 🏆
He's also competed in the 2025 WorldSkills National Championships in Brisbane on behalf of PEER, and somehow still has the best-ironed shirt on site every single day.
🔧 Tool he can't live without: pliers
🌅 Early starts, always
🎸 Off the clock? Metal music and a good laugh
We're so proud to have Aidan on the AHT team. Future leader in the making. ⚡
