Naturescope is now part of Force of Nature. Our current nature art exhibition opened this morning and can be viewed online for the next month. You can even listen to a relaxing curated soundtrack while you explore the catalog.
River to Reef by Dan and Emma Monceaux The Onkaparinga River estuary and Port Noarlunga reef are rich in biodiversity, yet many of the plants and animals that live there are rarely seen or reflected in artwork. Local Port Noarlunga artists, Dan and Emma Monceaux, answer this call with their exhibition, River to Reef.
NatureScope artists Dan Monceaux and Emma Monceaux have had a busy year, exhibiting new works in various art galleries. They will each have new work in the Port Pirie Regional Art Gallery from the 20th of October to the 5th of November. Dan will be showing video works, Emma will be showing scarves with patterns inspired by nature, and both will have digital illustrations hanging on the gallery walls. We had a lovely encounter with an Eastern spinebill this week at the Mount Lofty Botanic Garden. He was busy feeding on nectar and had a whole mature tree's worth to himself.

We had the rare pleasure of the company of a small flock of 9 musk lorikeets yesterday, while walking the path around the Thorndon Park reservoir in outer suburban Adelaide.

We visited the Conservatory at the Adelaide Botanic Gardens when the Titan Arum (Amorphophallus titanum) was in bloom. This vulnerable species typically only blooms once every 5-10 years, and the flower only remains open for 24 to 48 hours.
This is the second bloom to occur in South Australia this summer, with visitors flocking to see the flower on both occasions. The previous bloom occurred at the Mount Lofty Botanic Garden.
