Will AI take our jobs?

A better question might be: which human skills will become more valuable as AI improves?

Artificial intelligence will increasingly handle routine, repeatable and clearly defined tasks. But that does not mean the end of human work. It means that the skills employers value are beginning to change.

In our latest ARCSA article, we explore six skill areas that are likely to matter more in an AI-rich world:

• Using AI to solve real problems• Learning quickly and working effectively• Leadership and decision-making• Communication, creativity and good judgement• Navigating complex human systems• Practical skills in unpredictable real-world environments

The most important lesson is not to compete with AI at what it does best. Learn how to work with it, direct it, question it and use it to create meaningful results.

The article also includes practical project ideas, learning pathways and a 30-day plan for students, professionals and career changers.

Did you know your child can start our Robotics Course at any time during the term?

You don’t have to wait until Week 1 of the next school term to join.

Our beginner Robotics Course uses a project-based learning approach and is based on the Carnegie Mellon University Robotics Academy curriculum.

Rather than having every student complete the same lesson at the same time, students work through a structured program of approximately 100 robotics activities, challenges and missions at their own pace. The complete program usually takes around one year to complete.

So, if your child joins us in Week 4, they haven’t “missed” the first three weeks. They simply start with the introductory activities and continue progressing from there.

We use South Australian school terms primarily for enrolment and booking purposes. The learning itself is continuous. We don’t restart the Robotics Course from the beginning every term.

Start when you’re ready. Learn at your own pace. Continue from where you left off.

Modern robotics requires powerful, flexible tools, and that’s exactly what the ROS (Robot Operating System) delivers. Our university-level robotics lab and teaching programs are ideal for research projects and prototyping in autonomous systems and AI. At ARCSA, we use an ecosystem of ROS-based platforms to help you:

- Master robot navigation, perception, and control
- Deploy SLAM, AI vision, or multi-sensor fusion
- Experiment with scenarios that scale from beginner to advanced
- Validate research in real scenarios

Why Join a Face-to-Face Robotics Course?

Some people ask why they should attend classes when excellent online resources already exist.

It’s a fair question.

The answer is that learning robotics is about much more than watching videos.

In our weekly classes you’ll be able to:

• Ask questions as they arise
• Receive immediate guidance
• Work with real robots
• Learn alongside other technology enthusiasts
• Stay motivated through a structured program

The curriculum provides the content.

Face-to-face teaching helps turn that content into practical skills.

We just launched our Professional Robotics Course for Adults.

One question we’ve been asked several times is:

“Do I need to be an engineer?”

Not at all.

This course is suitable for anyone with a genuine interest in robotics and technology, including:

• Engineers
• Software developers
• IT professionals
• Teachers
• University students
• Makers
• Hobbyists
• Career changers

No robotics experience is required.

We’ll build the foundations together, starting with Linux and Python before progressing into ROS 2 and modern robotics.

Learning Robotics Means Working With Real Robots

Watching videos is useful.

But programming real robots is where the learning truly begins.

Participants in ARCSA’s Professional Robotics with ROS 2 course will learn using our BotBox Robotics Lab, which features professional mobile robots equipped with sensors, cameras, and LiDAR.

You’ll move beyond theory and simulation to experience how robotics software behaves in the real world.

That’s where robotics becomes truly fascinating.

What Is ROS 2 and Why Does It Matter?

If you’ve ever wondered how autonomous robots navigate warehouses, explore space, inspect industrial sites or deliver supplies, there’s a good chance they’re powered by ROS 2 (Robot Operating System 2).

ROS 2 has become the world’s leading robotics software framework, used by universities, research laboratories and robotics companies across the globe.

Our new evening course introduces you to this exciting technology through a structured learning pathway that begins with Linux and Python, then progresses to professional robotics.

If you’ve always wanted to understand how modern robots actually work, this is your opportunity.
