.au direct, Australia's newest domain namespace enables Australians to register domain names directly before the .au for the first time (e.g. getyour.au).

The Priority Allocation process concludes on 20 September 2022 (23:59 UTC on 20 September 2022 / 9:59AM AEST on 21 September). Priority Allocation provides registrants of .au domain names licensed before launch priority to apply for the matching .au direct name.

If no priority application is received for a .au direct match name by that date, it will become available for registration by the public on 3 October 2022 (3 October 2022; or 8:00AM AEDT on 4 October).

Today we have launched an important new system for our existing clients with a WordPress site - vulnerability reports. This is an automated system that will email you once per week if your WordPress site has a known vulnerability. The email will contain a summary of the vulnerabilities, and a link to view a detailed report.
The detailed report contains more information about the vulnerabilities, and our recommended actions.

Ofcourse you can opt out receiving these, but we recommend against this as these are an important step in safeguarding your website.

About the role

We are seeking a skilled and commercially experienced full time Web Developer who lives and breathes WordPress on a daily basis.

The successful candidate will be working both independently and as part of a collaborative team on a variety of web development projects.

We are looking for a Web Developer who is keen to take the lead on projects, and will be involved in project management, such as quoting, client interaction and managing a small team.

A large part of our work is maintaining and supporting our existing clients websites, so we have built many long-term relationships with our clients.

As well as client work, we are also starting to focus on developing our own products; one of our established products is a WordPress custom-fields plugin, and we are currently developing a number of other plugins and tools.

Products we use include MasterPress, ACF, Gravity Forms, iThemes Security Pro, WP Rocket, ShortPixel, WP Time Capsule, Envato Marketplace, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office.

Skills and experience

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 4 years commercial experience in a similar role and possess a full-stack skillset:
PHP/MySQL
HTML5/CSS3
JavaScript/jQuery
WordPress custom frontend and backend template development
WordPress plugin development
WooCommerce
GIT or other version control
3rd party API integration
Project management


Sound working knowledge and experience with DNS, WHM/cPanel servers and Microsoft 365 products would be highly desirable.

Other essential attributes required in this role include:

Outstanding problem solving skills
Excellent attention to detail
An ability to work within budgets
Ability to show initiative

The Community Business Bureau - CBB website went live earlier in the year, and is a project we are quite proud of. A lot of custom backend development went into this to make it really easy for the client to build detailed but consistent, content-heavy pages, that aligns with their style guide.

CBB are a long-term client (we built their previous site too) and it was a pleasure to work with them again.
