SUPERANNUATION CHANGES COMING EFFECTIVE 1 JULY 2025 💰

From 1 July 2025, the Superannuation Guarantee rate will increase from 11.5 to 12%. This means employers will be required to contribute 12% of an eligible employee’s ordinary time earnings into their super fund.

This marks the final step in the Government’s legislated plan to increase the super rate from 9.5% in 2021 to 12% in 2025, helping Australians grow their retirement savings.

IMPORTANT GST UPDATE FOR SMALL BUSINESSES WITH A HISTORY OF POOR COMPLIANCE

Starting March 2025, the ATO will transition some small businesses from quarterly to monthly GST reporting if they have a history of noncompliance. This comes into place on 1 April 2025. This change aims to help businesses stay on top of their tax obligations with more frequent reporting.

Who will be affected?
Businesses with:

✔️late or missed GST payments
✔️consistently late lodgments
✔️ inaccurate tax reporting

What does this mean?

✅ affected businesses will receive written notice from the ATO
✅ after 12 Months of compliance, they can request to return to quarterly reporting
✅ businesses can object if they believe the decision is unfair
