🌟 A fantastic night at the Modbury Chess Club! 🌟
Last Friday, we kicked off with an incredible session on “Opening Principles”. Yesterday, the energy was just as strong as we welcomed a wonderful group of chess enthusiasts through our doors! ♟️
A huge thank you to our former club champion, Brad Horne, who shared his expertise and practical strategies on “Endgames.” After the session, parents and children teamed up to practice those very endgame techniques ! It was amazing to see everyone so focused and having fun! 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦✨
We’re absolutely thrilled to see so many friends excited about chess. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned player, our club is the place to be.🤝

Tonight was all about Opening Principles, and what an incredible session it was!
A huge thank you to our three-time Club Champion Brad Horne and Manny Schiavone for leading the night with so much passion and expertise.
We had the pleasure of welcoming a fantastic group of young, enthusiastic players along with their parents – all eager to learn chess strategies together. 💡

Modbury’s B Grade Team ready to play last night at interclub.

BEGINNER'S WORKSHOPS
Have you just learnt to play but are afraid of joining a club or playing others? Do you think you are not good enough to play other people over the board?
On the 1st and 8th of May we will be conducting Beginner's Workshop's designed for people new to chess.
On the 1st of May we will cover opening principles and some basic openings.
On the 8th of May we will cover simple endgames such as how to checkmate.
All are very welcome! Please let everyone who may be interested know. It will be a great way to be introduced to a chess club and to meet new people.
