I get a lot of questions about my day job, so I figured it was time to answer a few!
Do you eat at restaurants every day?
Do you get lots of free meals?
What do you do if the food is bad?
What is it really like to be a food writer?
What is it really like to be a food writer? | Region Canberra As a food writer, I truly believe I have one of the best jobs in the world: I get to…
My lovely friend Sam of Garden Kitchen Witch’n is fundraising for a kitchen trailer to kick start the next stage of her catering business. Friends who were at my epic 30th birthday might recall Sam’s delicious dips and snacks!
If you’ve got a few dollars to spare, this is a great way to help out a local, ethical, sustainable, female-run small business.
AND if you choose the tier where you get tickets to the launch lunch then we can sit together!

Give it a listen on the Dirty Linen website or whatever podcast app you use.

I was honoured to give the vote of thanks at the ANU’s Meet The Author event with the inimitable Stephanie Alexander.
I started off by sharing my messy forays into lemon curd as a child thanks to our prolific lemon tree. So naturally I had to wear my lemon shirt 🍋
Stephanie’s conversation with Alex Sloane will go up as a podcast - will share when it’s up!

Check out this baby chef having a moment in the Guardian Australia!
This piece is just a teeny tiny fraction of what the book is about, but food and community are at the core of the whole thing so if you like this you’ll love the book!

Stephanie Alexander is kind of a big deal. And it was kind of a REALLY big deal that she was kind enough to write something about my book. And it's an even BIGGER deal that I'll be delivering a vote of thanks at an upcoming Meet The Author event at ANU to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the bible - wait I mean A Cook's Companion.
Come along!
Here is a picture of me being totally normal the last time I met Stephanie...
