In the past months, we noticed an accelerating velocity in US-Mortgage Rates. The housing market experiences significant price appreciation, fuelled by uncertainty. The FED doubling down on a hawkish policy, elevated real estate prices and increasing mortgage costs result in headwinds for Mortgage Lenders.

WUTIS Equity Research Final Pitches with McKinsey 📈

On the 10th of June our ER Division held its Final Pitching Event, where all ER members had the opportunity to present the results of their hard work during the semester in front of experienced consultants from our partner McKinsey & Company. Despite exam weeks and deadlines at the end of the semester all members were extremely motivated while preparing the pitches and enjoyed several long nights at our office Talent Garden Vienna in order to create the best possible outcome, which was again better than ever.

At this point also special congratulations to our winning team this semester, presenting Solar Edge, led by Philipp Jungwirth with a major contribution from his team consisting of Florian Romen, Arthur Kaspar, Dmytro Symomenko, Karina Huber, Johannes Zenkl and Lukas Rainer.

M&A Transaction Services public workshop with Deloitte 🤝

On the 14th of June, 25 selected applicants had the opportunity to participate in a workshop covering the practical derivation of an indicative purchase price. Using examples directly from practice, we had the opportunity to examine due diligence topics such as EBITDA normalization as well as classifications of net debt and working capital.

After solving the case studies provided, the results were presented and discussed with great enthusiasm and subsequently finished the evening with a get-together Deloitte’s terrace.

SCRUM Workshop with ZEB Consulting

On the 2nd of June our members had the chance to get to know what SCRUM is and what agile projects managed with this method look like thanks to our long-standing partner zeb. After an introduction to the method itself participants had to apply it themselves in order to complete a challenge posed by zeb. After successful completion, participants got to know zeb consultants of various seniority levels and areas in an informal get-togheter.

Communication and Leadership Workshop with McKinsey & Company 🙌🏻

Last week our members had the opportunity to participate in a workshop covering proficient communication and effective leadership in a playful way with two innovative challenges for our participants.
After the workshop our members had the chance to get to know McKinsey during dinner at Das KOLIN.

Initial Public Offering Workshop with Erste Group 📈

Yesterday our members had the opportunity to participate in a workshop covering the process of an IPO in-depth. This included a case study of one of Erste‘s recent Billion Euro IPOs which they coordinated together with two of the world’s top bulge brackets.
After the workshop members had the opportunity to get to know the Group‘s ECM team during snacks and drinks.

Risk and Crisis Management Workshop with KPMG 🤝

This week our members had the opportunity to participate in a workshop covering financial risk management in the banking sector. We started off with a high-level view on financial risk management and best practices. Going further we elaborated on the question what happens if risk management fails. Subsequently, recovery and resolution planning and case studies of recent bank insolvencies were discussed.
After the workshop members had the opportunity to get to know KPMG‘s Financial Risk Management team during an informal Q&A.

Sell-side M&A case study with BDO 🤝

In late April our members had the opportunity to participate in a workshop covering a sell-side case study: The owners of an innovative company, which has grown from a small start-up to a considerable size in recent years, now want to sell shares of their company. Before the transaction process is started, however, two questions need to be clarified. Which potential investors should be approached, i.e. who could be interested in buying shares in the company and how much is the company worth?
