I hate it to be photographed. Really! I simply feel uncomfortable even though I love the medium. This time I made an exception because of 2 reasons: I was shot by my dear bro Mato himself at one of my extended „livingrooms“ for my long term partner in crime aka rice money boss. To the Newman in town.

Ladies & gentlemen I’m happy to share with you my latest work as fashion director of the Vangardist magazine. Special thx to Niklas & Simon, and everybody who was involved.

ALL INCLUSION

From professionalism to authenticity – how Vangardist is bringing inclusion back into the issue. “Get Wild” means so much more than just breaking free from gender roles and conservative clothing norms. It’s the celebration of life outside the box. It’s the people that make our society diverse and special.

Niklas and Simon are best friends. Friends with Down syndrome. Friends who are talented despite, or maybe even because of their extra chromosomes. Friends who experience the world in a playful, open and unprejudiced manner.

The shoot with the boys wasn’t a typically planned affair between a photo wall and a camera lense. We didn’t mean it to be. In accordance with the theme of the issue, we didn’t put them in classic pieces of clothing – they were allowed to forage the hangers and pick whatever they liked. What they picked was always on point, but we’ll let the pictures do the talking.

Von Professionalität zu Authentizität – wie wir vom VANGARDIST Inklusion zurück in die Ausgabe holen: „Get Wild” bedeutet so viel mehr als das Ausbrechen aus Geschlechterrollen und konservativen Kleidungsformen. Es ist das Feiern des Lebens jenseits des Tellerrandes. Was sich dahinter verbirgt, sind Personen, die unsere Gesellschaft zu dem machen, was sie ist: divers und geprägt von Besonderheiten.

Niklas und Simon sind ziemlich beste Freunde. Freunde mit Down- Syndrom. Freunde, die trotzdem oder gerade wegen des speziellen Chromosomen-Twists anders begabt sind. Freunde, die die Welt spielerisch, offen und unvoreingenommen erleben.

Der Shoot mit den Jungs war kein klassisch durchgeplanter Termin zwischen Fotowand und Kameralinse. War auch nicht so gewollt. Angelehnt an das Thema der Ausgabe haben wir den beiden keine klassischen Kleidungsstücke zur Verfügung gestellt - sie durften wild durch die Fashion stöbern und sich das von der Kleiderstange aussuchen, was ihnen gefiel. Niklas und Simon waren dabei zu jeder Zeit stilsicher und die mutigen Looks sprechen für sich @ Shaped by ib
