🌱✨ Taking Responsibility for a Livable Future: Raiffeisen Sustainability Days 2026 🌱✨

To mark World Environment Day on June 5, 2026, numerous companies within the Raiffeisen Group are joining forces to send a strong message. For one week, we will be highlighting projects that are making a lasting impact on our regions.

AGRANA is committed to promoting climate resilience and climate protection in agriculture. We are proud that, through our “Green Corn” program, we can motivate contract suppliers for corn starch production to adopt CO2e-reducing methods in corn cultivation and use low-emission fuels and fertilizers. By simultaneously collecting primary data, we calculate the actual greenhouse gas emissions of our partner farms as a starting point for implementing targeted climate protection measures. Collaborative partnerships, reliable data, a focus on environmental sustainability and resilience - this is how we are driving the transformation of agriculture.

You can learn more about our commitment in our latest sustainability report: https://reports.agrana.com/en/

🌍🐝 Happy World Bee Day! 🐝🌼

Bees are essential for biodiversity, agriculture, and food security — and every single bee makes a difference. At AGRANA, we know how important these small pollinators are for our ecosystems and our food supply.

As part of our sustainability efforts to promote biodiversity in our upstream supply chain, ten beehives are placed at each of AGRANA’s Austrian production sites. For example at our plant in Aschach (Lower Austria), where this year 500,000 bees are producing around 200 kg of honey thanks to the dedicated care of our colleague and beekeeper Bernhard Baumann 🍯

And because protecting bees also means inspiring the next generation, we are already looking forward to our bee workshop in August, where children will get hands-on insights into the fascinating world of bees and honey production 🐝✨

Let’s keep the world buzzing — together!

Did you know that AGRANA is in one of three fruit yogurts worldwide? 👀 🍓

“Yogurt holds high importance for us. It's simply part of daily life here as a dessert. You can even buy it in packs of 16. That's why the yogurt and dessert aisles in supermarkets are so large and well-stocked”, says Operations Manager Cyrille Dreux.

At AGRANA’s site in France, around 125 employees turn fruit into customized preparations for the dairy, ice cream 🍦, beverage 🥤, and bakery 🥐 industries, as well as food service – with an annual production capacity of 48,000 tons.

Production in France is guided by objectives aligned with the NEXT LEVEL strategy, with strong growth expected in ice cream, food service, and flavors customer segments. 🚀

Data show that the food service sector will grow by a third in the EU by 2030 and globally by an average of 3.3 percent annually. 📈

Therefore… “We leverage our global market leadership in fruit preparations, our international presence, and our close customer relationships – as we do here in France”, as CEO Stephan Büttner announced.

🌱 Vienna Soil Dialog 2026 – a strong signal for the future

With the first Vienna Soil Dialog, AGRANA put soil at the center of attention as what it truly is: the foundation of food security, climate protection, and economic stability.

On March 23, experts from science, politics, and business came together in Vienna to discuss solutions – from regenerative agriculture to new frameworks.

💬 “Soil is central for AGRANA as a processor of agricultural raw materials,” said CEO Stephan Büttner.

💬 “Anyone who wants to strengthen resilience must start with soil,” emphasized President of the Austrian Raiffeisen Association Erwin Hameseder.

The key takeaway: we need a shift towards a holistic understanding of soil as a living system.

💬 “With our research award, we specifically recognize young scientists who are addressing key future challenges in food production,” said COO Franz Ennser.

Two outstanding research projects were honored:

🔬 Dr. Marianna Giancaterino – for her research on the use of electrical technologies in food processing, aiming to enable more sustainable processes while improving quality and safety.

🌱 Dr. Henrique Rasera Raniro – for his dissertation on the role of cover crop mixtures in mobilizing phosphorus in soil – an important contribution to sustainable agriculture.
