Reiner Riedler Photography

My pictures from Ukraine were taken between 1999 and 2003. I like to look back on this period, when Ukraine was in a state of transition – albeit with a sense of unease. They are so clearly drawn, as if they were preparing you for what was to come. Thank you to everyone I met during those years. That connection will last forever.

Exhibition till Jan 9th 2026

Martin Parrs work has accompanied me throughout my entire career as a photographer. I don’t even know when I saw his pictures for the very first time, but it feels as if they have always been there. I had the opportunity to meet him a few times in person. At , , and last year at (thanks to ), where these pictures were taken. Once, through the help of , I was also able to swap a picture with him. Since then, his picture „Kids with Ice Cream“ from „The Last Resort“ has been hanging in my living room. He received a picture from my series „Fake Holidays“, from a place called „Holyland“. I hope he is doing well there now. He was one of my photo heroes. Thank you for everything!
