Fun Mathematics Programme for 4 - 6 year olds in Vienna! It is in the skies above, in the buildings we live and in the nature around us.
At "Be Creative, Do Math" we believe that learning Mathematics has been given a bad rap and we want to put that right!! :)
We see mathematics as the science that is most central to the world and all of our lives. It is only natural that our little ones long to have an understanding of this core science. It won't be the first time you hear our little ones being described as little sponges. And for

The earth rotates on a tilted axis. As the earth orbits the sun sometimes we are close to the sun. This brings us the summer. Sometimes we are far from the sun. This brings us winter. 🌍 We made awesome ‘four season’ collages today. 🙌 🌸 ☀️ 🍁 ❄️

It was a pleasure to contrast the enormity of our solar system as considered in our first class with the tininess of an atom as was the topic in our class today 🌏 🔬 Today we crafted our own atoms! We talked about the nucleus and the electrons whizzing around them. We talked about the burst of energy we would get if we split them. Lots of fun with the mini scientists this morning 💙💚💛

Today was the first class of ‘Artistic Science’. In this course we play with concepts for which experiments are a challenge but creating art is a joy! Our solar system was the topic today. 🌏 💫🌙☄️✨💙

Music and Sound: we made our own music box today. Different strength elastic bands wrapped around a cardboard box, with a built in little bell for an added jingle. We experimented with pulling the bands tighter to show how the notes change, like when tuning a string instrument like a guitar. Science is Fun ❤️

Everything is made up of little small pieces or particles. If those particles are tightly packed together then the density is high. In our experiment we showed how oil will float on water! Adding glitter makes it all the more fun 🤗🌟🌈 ✨

So much fun with my son, performing a dry run of the first class of 'Experimental Science' starting tomorrow morning. Looking forward to experimenting with prisms and light and then picture documenting in our Experiment book ❤️🤗🙌🌈🔭🚀🎨
