Improving our built-up world with the next generation green building material
10/02/2026
We participated in the first German Forum on H**pcrete Architecture organised by Niklas Fanelsa and Franziska Sorger from the TU München It was an event full of relevant discussions, exchanges and networking on the topic of h**pcrete, h**plime and the various applications of h**p-based construction materials. Amongst the panelists were pioneers, architects and European producers and farmers and one of the main topics was standardisation and scaling up.
The event also contained a student exhibition called H**plands where a range of various highly creative and innovative products and ideas were presented. And also a Dinner event for participants, where completely novel and diverse food made from h**p was served.
It was an honor to represent H**pstatic and participate in this event with so many talented like-minded young people who actually do care about what kind of materials should be used in the construction sector in the future.
We enjoyed the Bavarian friendliness and are happy to see a growing interest in biobased construction materials among the young creatives.

Plants in interiors are the ultimate feel-good technology.
These orchids are real. They grow in the air, without soil, using ambient humidity to sustain their growth. A Japanese masterpiece showing how living plants can be integrated into indoor spaces and create a real moment of awe.
At H**pstatic, we follow the plant-based approach: enabling natural materials for demanding interior environments where no compromise on aesthetics or function is acceptable.
To ensure natural comfort and coziness.
To support better indoor air quality.
To make toxic-free the easy choice.
To elevate safety for both people and planet.
The built and the natural environment do not have to collide.
If we simply embrace the beauty and intelligence of nature itself.

Happy New Year 2026 ✨
Let it be a prosperous one for more health in construction, higher safety for building inhabitants and greater care for the environment.
Buildings have a long lasting impact. Much longer than a single lifetime of human.
Let this year be about the impact that we can make to induce a positive change for decades and generations ahead.
What if we build nature-friendly? 🌿
Not as an exception ❌
Materials that store carbon and improve the health of both people and planet 💚
With nature as norm ✅

All good things come to an end.
And so does World Expo 2025.
It has been a huge honor to be featured at the EU Pavilion in Osaka.
Today marks the final day.
Under the motto Saving Lives, our installation served to highlight the harmonious co-existence with nature and public health.
Showing what sustainable materials can look like on the world stage. Oscillating the vision towards more biobased, more stored carbon, less toxic waste.
Reflecting East Asia’s engagement in material circularity with curiosity, openness and a growing sense of urgency.
Nature becomes relevant again.
The Expo is all about the future of society.
Nurturing Tomorrow. Thinking in cycles. Designing for care. Building with the planet in mind.
Showcasing Osaka’s commitment to recyclable and reusable materials.
And we couldn’t have been more excited to be seen as part of the solution.
But the journey of our absorbers doesn’t end here.
Curious what’s next?
Stay tuned.

Sure, sounds good!
Explore our materials and latest prototypes at the Circular Economy exhibition at Technisches Museum Wien.
We are super excited to be part of the Innovation Corner.
There you can see a piece of our Circle series originally made for World Expo 2025 Osaka, Japan and a tangible overview of the circular lifecycle of our biocomposites, next to exciting new prototypes for special usecases.
Recipes that are toxic-free and biodegradable are a static focus of ours.
The benefits?
- More stored carbon
- Better room health
- Natural sound balance
- Better indoor climate
This is how our sound absorbers work.
Biobased materials are becoming an ever-present and will continue to grow as a static segment delivering innovation as the current state-of-the-art of standardisation and industrialisation poses boundaries to scale and quality.
Our work is directed towards pushing these boundaries to make designing with nature the new norm.
Sincere thanks to Austria Wirtschaftsservice and TMW - Technisches Museum Wien for giving us the stage to showcase the contemporary of biobased.

Policy update 💡 Whole-plant h**p framework moves forward
Great news for Europe ✨
The path towards a harmonised EU h**p framework is taking shape. After the European Commission’s July 2025 proposal to amend the Common Market Organisation Regulation, in September the European Parliament’s Agriculture Committee (COMAGRI) went a step further voting to recognise all parts of the h**p plant as licit agricultural products.
This decision confirms that h**p in its entirety, fibre, seeds, leaves, roots, and flowers, will be recognised within the EU’s agricultural framework. It represents a long-awaited step towards reducing the legal uncertainty created by fragmented national rules, helping to ensure fairness for farmers and companies across Europe.
The text now moves to a plenary vote in Parliament, followed by negotiations with the Council and the Commission. If successful, the new rules could apply as early as next summer.
For the h**p sector, this means legal clarity and the beginning of a whole-plant approach that allows Europe to dive deep into unlocking h**p’s full potential.
At H**pstatic, we see this as a major step forward for scaling h**p-based biocomposites in construction. Legal clarity empowers innovation and will help to build a biobased and climate-resilient future.
Congratulations to EIHA - European Industrial H**p Association for their leadership and dedication to this cause. 👏

Harvest time is the best time!
We were once again mowing the stems and flowers of ripe h**p, indeed very refreshing to be in the field on air at optimal weather conditions for harvesting.
This blend from the GRAND GARTEN field that we visited is made for high quality seeds from which the valuable edible oil is cold pressed. But the reason for growing h**p there is not only for the great diversity of applications of the produce, but also because of phytoremediation - cleaning the soil from toxins and heavy metals and improving the soil for another farming cycle.
There is only just three h**p-harvesters in Austria, and that makes the operation a bit more complicated, as the very wide (wider than 3) harvester needs special permissions to ride on roads. For the harvesting team it is quite an exhausting task, they come from Upper Austria and they try to systematically harvest all what is scheduled, to keep the cost down. Big shoutouts to Ignaz Danninger and his Team (here Florentin and Karl Raml) who are dedicated to harvest h**p every season, they are a very critical part in the h**p farming.
And by the way, did you know, that the seeds can be eaten right away when they are fresh? 🌱
Thanks to Hanfland Hanfprodukte, Alfred Grand and Ignaz Danninger with his team.
