Our resources have been designed to help deaf job seekers learn independently and acquire transferable digital skills.
What are transferable digital skills?
These are skills such as online research, formatting, online accessibility, video production and captioning, use of social media, presentations, online communication tools, basic graphics and knowledge of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and internet security.

Our resources are available in English and international sig, German and ÖGS, German and DGS, Italian and LIS and Turkish and TÍD
Our aim throughout the project and going now into the future is to improve lifelong learning and personal growth opportunities for deaf jobseekers, enabling better integration into the labour market.

Unsere österreichische Veranstaltung fand am 14. Dezember 2023 statt und wurde von equalizent Schulungs und Beratungs GmbH organisiert.
Wir präsentierten unsere Ergebnisse vor einem engagierten Publikum von gehörlosen und hörenden Expert*innen aus Wien und Umgebung.
Unsere Vortragenden aus allen 5 Partnerorganisationen präsentierten stolz unser innovatives Erasmus+ Projekt und stellten unseren europäischen Bericht über digitale Kompetenzen, unsere Erklärvideos und Unterrichtsmaterialien zu digitalen Kompetenzen vor.
Hier sind ein paar Eindrücke aus der Veranstaltung 💚

Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart Üniversitesi (COMU), 25.12.2023 tarihinde Free Technology Signs projesi çoğaltıcı etkinliğini (multiplier event) gerçekleştirdi.
Proje ekibi tarafından, yenilikçi özelliği ile ön plana çıkan bu Erasmus+ projesi hakkında bilgilendirme sunumları yapıldı. Katılımcılara proje, projede üretilen materyaller ve projenin sonuçları ile ilgili detaylı bilgiler verildi. Etkinlik aynı zamanda, çevirmen Elif Özbek tarafından Türkçe İşaret Dili'ne çevrildi.

Gestern ist das Free Technology Signs Projekt offiziell zu Ende gegangen. 27 Monate haben wir gemeinsam an der Erstellung von Erklärvideos und Bildungsmaterialien zu digitalen Kompetenzen gearbeitet.

Our final event took place on 14 December 2023, hosted by equalizent Schulungs und Beratungs GmbH at WITAF in Vienna.

In front of an engaged audience, we proudly presented our innovative Erasmus+ project with speakers from all partner organisations. We were happy to show off our videos and teaching materials on digital skills.

Speakers included Matthias Fenkart, equalizent Vienna; Frankie Picron, EUD - The European Union of the Deaf, Christian Rathmann, Deaf Studies / Gebärdensprachdolmetschen HU-Berlin; Joanna Kinberger, equalizent Vienna; Hasan Arslan, Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University and Gianluca Grioli, Istituto dei Sordi di Torino

The event was held in International Sign and English with Austrian Sign Language interpretation.

Afterwards there was a relaxed exchange with snacks and drinks.

We would like to say a huge thank you to all our guests and the many people who worked so hard to make the event a great success.

Do you know what “Transferable Digital Skills are? No? Let us explain …
“Transferable digital skills” are flexible competences you can use in a variety of jobs.
In other words, you can transfer them from one job to another
Examples of “transferable digital skills” include: competencies in cloud services, data protection, social media, graphics, as well as other computer applications.
Was sind „Transferable Digital Skills“?
„Transferable Digital Skills“ sind Kompetenzen. Sie können in verschiedenen Jobs flexibel angewendet werden.
Das bedeutet man kann sie von einem Job in einen anderen Job übertragen /übernehmen.
Beispiele für „Transferable Digital Skills“ sind: Kompetenzen in Cloud-Dienste, Datenschutz, Social Media,
Grafik oder verschiedene Computeranwendungen.

But what is plain language?
And why is plain language so important?
1. Everybody Understands
When we use plain language, more people can understand what we’re saying.
It’s like sharing a story. Everyone can enjoy it.
No one feels left out!
2. No More Confusion
Plain language makes sure there is no confusion.
Our message is super clear and straightforward.
You understand what we mean straight away!
3. Good for Everyone
Plain language is good for everyone.
It’s especially good for people who find reading difficult.
It’s great for people who were not born in the country they live in.
4. Sign Language and plain language
Plain language enables signers to understand written language better.
Sign language is different to spoken/written language.
Written language is a second language for signers.
5. Learn and grow
Plain language helps us to learn and grow.
It’s like a friendly guide.
It means that we can explore new ideas and find out exciting things!
Let’s keep it simple and use more plain language
