Anyone dealing with attic conversions in Vienna knows the challenges: strict fire safety regulations, escape routes, elevator planning. But navigating these complexities is exactly our specialty at db spaces!

Milestones like this are the result of months of hard work, countless phone calls, emails, and a whole lot of perseverance. We are incredibly proud of our entire team for keeping an absolutely cool head throughout the entire process! 🧊💪

Where a previous project failed, our design found a way. 🏗️✅

​For anyone planning in Vienna, it’s no secret that the requirements of the Department of Architectural Design (MA19) are exceptionally high. Feedback is typically neutral or highly critical, so having a project fully convince the authorities on the first attempt is anything but ordinary.

​Securing a clear "Ready for Submission" (Einreichfähig) for our project in Vienna's 22nd district on the first attempt is a major win. 📜✅

​This result is particularly rewarding because, just two years ago, a different proposal for this exact site failed to gain approval—a setback so severe that the previous owner unfortunately went bankrupt.

​We are now moving into the next phase with full energy: The official building permit submission with the MA37!

Maximizing living quality despite minimal building density!

​Challenges are meant to be solved. In Hinterbrühl, we have planned a project that seemed almost impossible at first glance. With extremely restrictive building regulations allowing only 10% site coverage and a technically demanding subsoil, absolute precision was required.
​Thanks to our long-standing expertise with the Lower Austrian Building Code (NÖ Bauordnung) and a close, trust-based collaboration with the owner, we made it happen. A perfectly functional semi-detached house that optimizes the site without compromising the natural surroundings. Architecture is more than just design, it’s about finding solutions at the edge of what is possible.
