From the 11th of February, we'll start a new adventure and we'll open OBOLO and the record store each Wednesday, from 16 until 22 🌟🌟🌟

It will be similar to our beloved Obolo Music Sessions, it will be a place where people gather to talk about music, a place where to meet new friends and share a glass of natural wine, a place where to buy and discover new and old releases on vinyl, a place where to simply listen to records.

Every Wednesday a person will be in charge of the listening session. It won't be a dj set. 

It will be more like proposing music they want to share, giving each one of us the opportunity to discover something new.

The music selection will start around 18 and at 20 o clock, the "selecter" will propose a record that we'll listen from start until the end, the record of the DAY ⏺️

Save the date 22 November for the next Obolo Music with special guest a female dj and producer from Belgium:

Die Zeit ist gekommen: Obolo öffnet wieder seine Türen! Wirklich fertig ist es noch nicht, aber bereits wunderbar präsentierbar. Wir drehen das Eingangsschild daher wieder auf „Open“ und lassen euch nicht mehr länger warten. Gleichzeitig wollen wir eure Ideen, Vorschläge und Reaktionen nutzen, um das Obolo in sein volles Potential zu bringen.

Daher laden wir euch ein, diesen Samstag, 8. November, von 15:00-20:00, bei uns in der Wolfgang-Schmälzl-Gasse 16 vorbeizukommen. Das neue Obolo kennenzulernen. Zu plaudern, Musik zu hören, mit uns anzustoßen, und eure eventuellen Crowdfunding Geschenke abzuholen (apropos: DANKE an alle unter euch, die schon teilgenommen haben: ihr habt die bisherige Arbeit möglich gemacht!

TOASTkawaii

Felix Weisz kreiert in seinen Arbeiten Synergien zwischen byzantinischen sowie mittelalterlichen Bildtraditionen und einer eigenständigen Pop-Ästhetik. Sein liebliches Bildpersonal befindet sich in meist misslichen Lagen, bei denen sich die Betrachtenden wundern mögen, wie die Protagonist:innen hier wohl reingestolpert sein könnten. Diese Arbeiten nennt er One Panel Narratives.

Stilistische Kontraste erforschen mögliche Verschränkungen zwischen high art und low art und die Auflösung der Grenzen dazwischen.
Die mitgelieferten Kontexte durch die Schriftbilder, die häufig in der Bildfläche selbst auftauchen, oder die bewusst bedeutsamen Bildtitel verweisen auf (pop-)kulturelles Interesse zwischen kollektivem Gedächtnis und bildungsbürgerlichem Wissenskanon.

Die Bilderrahmen jeglicher Ausformung, die ausnahmslos eigene Vorgeschichten mitbringen, werden durch ihre Form allein oder durch Einverleibung in das Motiv zu einem integralen Bestandteil der meist auf Goldgrund gestalteten Arbeiten und verwandelt die Gemälde in Wandobjekte.

In über 10.000 Jahren gemeinsamer Entwicklung hat der Hund eine Kommunikationsfähigkeit mit dem Menschen entwickelt, die ihn einzigartig in der Tierwelt macht.

Hundefotografie im Sturm ist eine Serie von 12 Cyanotypien, die Momente der inter- und intraspezifischen Kommunikation in einem frei komponierbaren visuellen Text zusammenfasst.
